People procreated

Women.

Safety happened and all the car companies started building really safe cars.
Nowadays you can roll a car 5 times and the roof won't crush in on you.

>saving stupid peoples lives
WHY?!

When did safety become "crashing into things and surviving" instead of "seeing things and avoiding hitting them"

idk how or why in your countries but vid related explains it pretty well for straya
youtube.com/watch?v=Z2mf8DtWWd8

Not sure I'd like to be driving during a roll over

It's everyone else who needs to watch out for me desu

I hope a retard slams into you with his safety bubble and fucking flattens you

But I could do that in the 80s

80's cars

modern cars

>dat youtube anthem

Aside from that, it's amazing how far we've come in just 30 years

>that first video

I thought we have gone through this already. The car is obviously driving faster than the regular crashtesting speed and possibly has weights in the boot.

that commodore is doing 80km/h, the vk was notorious for having a shit chassis that wasnt welded together properly is why it happened.
and it was only allowed to happen because no one gave a shit about safety until people started crashing those cars and someone said "maybe we should test it"

>Strayans drive like cunts

What else is new?

Slamming a new car against deformable barrier is indeed great safety improvement over slamming old car into concrete wall at much higher speed

>Special testing of new facility in 1992. Car was loaded with 375 Kg /827 lb of sand and was 100Kmh into a solid wall not alloy honeycomb. Not a real test of the car.

Holy kekkers

Here`s another "test" with a slightly more modern car.

is that a real enough crash for ya?

and i highly doubt any car from the 80's would do that well.
as i said they didnt care about testing the cars, you just said they didnt even build the facility to do the tests until 1992 lol.

>and i highly doubt any car from the 80's would do that well.

Half the car disintegrated, it would not even matter at that speed even if you drove the newest Tesla.

>but at least my trunk is intact

i still wouldnt want to be in one of those cars in a crash.

look how much damage the ford took, 80's car crumples like wet cardboard.

>that video
>Omega obliterating that Volvo rear end

inb4 Volvo memes.

Safety standards forcing manufacturers to beef up their pillars autistically

You mean the worst 80s cars. I didn't say all 80s cars were tanks. I was referencing the Volvo 242 and Saab 99/900.

gotta admit it did alright considering 200km/h, the volvo disappeared

>Mention 80s cars could survive this
>You pick an overloaded 90s car

"Special testing of new facility in 1992. Car was loaded with 375 Kg /827 lb of sand and was 100Kmh into a solid wall not alloy honeycomb. Not a real test of the car."

>Not a real test of the car

0/10

Old cars are less safe, no denying that, its just that the first comparison with the Holden was not apt at all.

That`s actually an early 80s GM, the test was done in 92.

Holy fuck, what a flawed test. Even before it happens.

"This simulates two cars crashing headon at 120MPH"

No it fucking doesn't, you are using an immovable concrete barrier and crashing one car. lrn 2 physics.

Actually scratch that, its actually a 70s designed car.

see its a great comparison.
like who the fucks doing 200km/h lol?

I guess you could say we lost sight of it.

>Shitty 80's car crumples like wet cardboard

Fix'd

You`re pretty much fucked in any pre 00s (or a newer small one) car doing 70 against an immovable object, or basically anything bigger and heavier. Less so in a more modern car. Still its best no to crash.

"Hmmmm... fuck it."

>Pic unrelated

The milk man, the paper boy, evening T.V ?

>evening tv

Since you can't trust people who don't like driving to pay attention then they have to design the car around them.

DID IT GO AWAY AGAIN?

JUST LIKE SOME WORN OUT TREND

nah. the supra has a massive long engine bay that holds up amazingly.

it's fucking stupid how people have walked away from 200km/h plus supra crashes

Saved

interest in structural integrity

>poopra

Too bad the rear end isn’t that strong.

youtube.com/watch?v=QaiMUM0XVZk

Stupid people do stupid shit.

Stupid people crash.

Stupid people died.

Government doesnt like stupid people dying.

Government tells car companies to save stupid people.

Not-stupid people now crash since you can no longer see your blind spot without a passanger.

Stupid people still due anyhow.

"Unfree" Europeans. Also a head-on crash of two cars going 100 equates to crashing into a still standing object at 200.

Safety became important.

> That Cherokee separating from the axles and heading for the skies
Holy fucking shit.
