An an EV driver, I seriously can't take ICE cars seriously anymore. I had no idea it would have this affect on me. Every time I see an ad for a car that uses gas, I'm not impressed in the slightest. I think, "What's the point? It uses dead, outdated technology." It feels like I'm stuck back in time and I'm seeing ads for a past era.

Do any other EV drivers share my feels?

Smug alert

...

>what's the point
Indeed. What's the point of electric vehicles?

No, because my ICE car is still more energy efficient than your slot car.

what car do you have?

im planning to buy an EV car in like 5 years, once the technology proved itself to be reliable

>tesla btfo by a 10k shitbox
No recovery possible at this point

It's not in self appreciation, though. It really does seem like dead technology.

>dead
Just like the model s's battery as it attempts to beat an suv around a track

...

kek, can't make this shit up

>inb4 price range
The roadster costs as much as a nismo.

They run on electricity.

I doubt that.

kek

>29.4 seconds to 150 mph
>gets destroyed around a track by a mustang with the worst suspension system on the planet too
>100k cheaper
Defend this tesla fags

>P85D
>700 PS
Fuck off, Musk

with how inefficient the national grid is, it would not shock me. in my opinion i think people should drive cars they like not because they have some wankery feature.

Atleast tesla tried

>energy density of gasoline - 46.4 MJ/Kg
>energy density of typical power cell - 2.5MJ/Kg

Fuck your glorified mobility scooter, phaggot

A Chevy Volt. It's been 100% reliable so far. It cost less than half of its original price.

>electric
kek

But those run on gas.

>volt
>ev
Pick one you gas cuck hahaha

>car designed for handling over speed and lightweight over comfort
>versus a car designed for straight line speed and comfort

Fggt

I like electric cars.

See
Keep up the damage control

a volt is a good car, im not him but you really aught to know that you sound like a prick.

I pick both. It's fully electric for an estimated 38 miles.

Oh i get it now. You're one of those special needs kids that makes inaccurate comparisons just to "troll" logical people, then you claim victory and throw out "damage control" when you are called out.
>i was only pretending to be retarded
In this case, there is no pretending, Just genuine retardation.

>gets btfo
>b-b-b-but
Tesla fags everyone...

Funny how you left out the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in those pics.
>honda btfo
>mitsubishi btfo
>radical>you

Drag racing has a board dude.

Nice damage control
Stay btfo'd

>this assmad you've been BTFO
Kek

i like alphonse when he cucks ev fags but ecoboost meme is getting tiring.

It is a fair argument. There are races in which a Tesla could beat almost any other production car. One such race would be a race from 0 to 60 mph.

Denial is the first step to btfo acceptance.
Try submitting to a higher power.
It will ease your anal-suffering.

>cuck is projecting already
kek, stay BTFO

Neglecting your sphincter burn has the potentital to turn into a full blown anal-epidemic.
Talk to your doctor today about the risks of ignoring btfo induced pooper-pain.

nigga just sayin but you don't know how to shitpost

>projecting again
Kek

So why is the Type R slower than the Tesla 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile?

How is electricity generated?

See

Sounds like someone's butthurt

look m8 i hate tesla too but chances are the electricity you're getting is from a clean source unless you live in China.

>literally btfo this hard
Kek

Tesla can't compete with 10k shitboxes

If you are actually not b8ing, how do you live with long recharge time? Sometimes i need to do up to 1200km a day. I cant do that in EV. Until they can recharge as fast as you can put fuel in ICE car they are worthless for people like me. Lets face it, they are shoping cars for soccer moms and people who think they make a difference. Reality is they dont. One factory in china will damage earth more than me driving my whole life.

But its faster than almost any other production car on the planet.
How fast does the Civic run the 1/4 mile?
You can hide behind your korean child porn all day, but you cant hide from the fact that a pigfat american electric car can out run just about anything else including your meme honda.

Just because someone doesn't do 1200 km a day doesn't make them a soccer mum driving 5 kays to the shops and back. That's fucking ridiculous.

Some of us enjoy driving so don't choose to do it for a living to kill the joy

>literally lost around a track to a 10k shitbox
>ultimate damage control

"Clean" is an extremely relative term in this case and it depends a lot on where you live

Electric cars were considered outdated technology back in the 1920s when gas started taking over. There's nothing new about electric cars.

Thats like saying i dont need to buy car with more than 50 hp because 130 kph is the limit so whats the point. What if you go 250 kms in one direction, you reach point of no return and youre fucked. I dont need that. EVs are only for LA soccer moms and thats the truth

Also Im not driving for living. My company is working on few different contracts so sometimes i need to travel a lot.

>honda sports car
>loses a drag race to a four door american landbarge powered by electricity
Bee
Tea

Owe

Unless you live in assfuck Wisconsin, your electricity is from a clean source.
any coal plants in the US are regulated to be very clean anyway.

Battery technology has come a long way since then though

>slower around a track
Absolutely BTFO

>slower at a drag strip
Absolutely BTFO

so has ICE you fucking dumbass just delete this thread

>tesla still slower where it matters

Because the majority of street driving is just like a road course.
Stay cucked lil hondaboy

Nowhere near as much as batteries.
I didn't make this thread

>tesla literally cannot compete with a 10k shitbox

Unless its in the most common kind of race on the planet.
Tesla beats the civic where it matters.

>no ecoboost

Do people realize that they are not actually doing much to save the environment by buying hybrid or electric cars?

Think about it. The people who designed the cars probably drove to work in a gas powered car. The people who mine and refine the raw materials to make the car use gas and diesel equipment. The trucks used to deliver the materials to the factory use diesel. The trucks used to deliver the cars to the dealer use diesel. The trucks used to deliver the parts to build the charging stations use gas or diesel. The people who service the charging stations probably drive gas or diesel trucks.

Energy can not be created or destroyed, it is only transferred. Whatever energy you think conserve in your electric car has already been used in one way or another.

If you take the production out of the equation a prius(for example) uses gas more efficiently than most other non-hybrid cars. So in the long run since they both run on gas it would be better to Prius.

However unless you get really expensive hybrids like the 918. no sane person should ever get a fucking hybrid. They ruin everything about driving.

Full electric cars are worse in my opinion since they need to get power from plants creating more demand on the power grid of already over demanded powers grids. So they build more plants and pollute more.

>coal
>clean
pick one fag

>mfw I live in Sheboygan, wi
>mfw my power plant imports clean burning coal from Wyoming
fuck right off idiot

learn about carbon collectors fag

physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/2015/apr/16/how-to-efficiently-capture-carbon-dioxide-out-of-thin-air

It can be.
There's plenty of exhaust gas cleaning systems out there now. "Scrubbers" as they call them I suppose

How about the 100-150 times

>acid rain

batteries and motors are literally more outdated than otto and diesel cycle internal combustion engines

a good majority of the power in my state is fossil fuels
it is all natural gas though

This is the future.

>EV

No thanks.

...

Did you think about manufacturing effects before you posted this? Battries are toxic as hell, THEY HAVE ACID THAT BURNS YOU! Until EV can sound ae good as a V8 I will never own one. I don't want to go down the road and hear a slight hum, I want to hear my vehicle roar with the power of fossil fuels :^)

IMA TELL YA ANYWAY

mine is defiantly coal because the power plant is in the same town as me

Not fag op but so are normal car batteries

nein

what is thermal efficiency ?

>electricity you're getting is from a clean source

But muh salmons!

Evs are just as old and we chose no to use then in the beginning.

Electric cars use lithium batteries you morons. Which still fucks a lot of shit up to mine.

I didn't realize how much Tesla's weigh. I know batteries are heavy but that's pretty significant. At least the weight about as low as you can get for a great center of gravity.

>clean burning coal
No such thing. I once talked to someone in one of these "clean coal" plants. He says the term is a marketing ploy.

>News Flash:

ELECTRIC CARS EXISTED BEFORE THE FIRST INTERNAL COMBUSTION WAS BUILT.

Who's outdated now?

Not to mention how super-inefficient EVs are ( burning coal lol then transporting it across the country with corona discharge losses at every pole).

Mine is from the sun.

>how do you live with long recharge time?

I don't go past 38 miles on most days. On days when I need to go more, I use gas. I plan on getting a Bolt in the near future and I have already planned all of my charging station stops. I live in California and they are plentiful in every direction from my home. I realize I will need to give myself more time so I am not in a rush, but I'm okay with that.

I think they are better in the long term.

The Chevy Bolt is going to weigh 3,580 pounds, which I think is fairly light for a 200 mile EV of its size.

I think EVs are more efficient than gas cars.

Most of Americas electrical grid runs on coal or natural gas.
