Turning your car off to pump fuel

With the ignition, never mind the fucking engine on - yes.
>not believing it does
>ignition contained within the cylinder
>somehow getting out and all the way to the rear of the car
Who fills up a stolen car?
>thinking metal on metal will ever form a perfect seal
>using fuel while you put more in
Refill nozzles on tanker trucks for hihg speed gassan when
>thinking that a small spark, that burns the fuel for a millisecond, will somehow escape a cylinder and reach the maybe 5 ft.3 of rapidly evaporating fuel fumes 15 feet away from the ignition source and explode shit
The future is now senpai
It's a long drive to mexico
>consuming fuel as you add it
>petrol can burn when its liquid
fumes burn when mixed with air.
still better to be safe than sorry
Go watch some YouTube vids of people gassing up their cars while on. Shit's always a chuckle.
Better yet, go try it friendo :^)
did it ever actually happen?
But I do it at least once a year.
No one turns their vehicle off when the really cold days of winter rolls around.
But how long before my miats can pull up along a tanker on the highway and gas up at 70 MPH?
>Miata
>70mph
Well, never.
>imblying
I might deplete fuel faster than I'm getting it at 4000 RPM, and the tanker truck may fall apart from the vibration, but goddamnit it's worth it
>Confirmed for retarded
>feeling up with car running
>remove fuel cap
>instant check engine light
>have to get evap codes erased because you're a retard
>Fill up with car running
>Remove fuel cap
>Nothing happens because lol no EFI and no ECU
>Don't have to get my codes checked because I live in a free state
>Do a burnout and cruise on over you your mother's house to run her over.
Feels good man.
My car backfires quite a bit so yeah, turning it off when I get fuel
This
>not turning the car off when stopped
>operating a car at a gas station, where people drive to fill up their cars, can cause an explosion
Stay classy Veeky Forums.
Do not reply to bait threads.
Autoignition (ignition of vapors without an ignition source) of guzzoline is about 500°F. Diesel fuel is even lower. Some car exhaust systems can easily get close to these temperatures even while idling and chances are since you probably just drove to the gas station the car is already completely warmed up.
>leaving your car on to pump fuel
good thing every gas station has floor fans to cool of my exhaust every time i get gas.
Actually the biggest issue with running your car while pumping gas is the engine pumps the evaporative inlet for gas vapors/fumes. So you're literally fucking up your car by getting liquid gas in this system
>being this retarded
I once saw an old white guy filling up his car while it was idling, and he was smoking as he held the nozzle
Lemme se you try igniting diesel vapors motherfucker
>Drive into petrol station at full speed
>Free fuel for the rest of your life
guess after decades of doin the same shit you just stop caring
You do realise a spark plug wire can wear and leak spark right? Fucking duh a spark isn't gonna jump out of a cylinder....but it can arc to anything grounded and close enough in your car.
I swear to fuck some of you people are absolutely fucking retarded....
>Needing to get out of your seat to fill up
cagecucks pls
>fueling your own gas
It's like you enjoy touching things others have fondled.
>implying I don't molest my bike on the way to school every morning
Nobody strokes her tank quite like I do
+1 for this. My car was running like a hairy dog. Turned out the rearmost plug lead had worn and was arcing to the block instead of the plug.
>letting Jamal pump your gas
I bet you let him pump your wife full of cum too.
>doesn't know the difference between flash point and autoignition.
How do you think diesel engines work?
>sick rally car flames from super anti lag brapping or having a super shit car
>1970+46
>spark plug wires
I tried doing this on my bike. It's just totally impractical since most pumps have the concrete guard around them so you can't just ride up to the pump where you can reach it.
Yeah I dont think you gonna make those temperatures in the open senpai
>own a diesel
>never turn truck off while fueling
like i give a fuck, find me one story of someone blowing up a gas station because his diesel vehicle was on and not because of some outside circumstance and I'll shut it off, otherwise I prefer to listen to the beautiful sound of the idle
Doesn't pumping with your car on wreck your fuel pump? Because you're letting air into the fuel lines?
...
Do you also think running a car low on gas can kill the engine because the pump collects the "dirt" from the bottom of the tank?
It does legitimately kill the fuel pump though. Rust and debris settle at the bottom, when low on fuel the pump pulls that shit in, killing the pump faster.
that's what the fuel filter is for
Do tell where does the fuel pump suck the fuel normally from? The top of the tank?
In tank pumps have basic mesh filters, itll still suck a shitload of dirt and debris up.
Do you not know what dilution is?
>own a diesel
>beautiful sound of the idle
I want you to know that I realize it is not my place to judge you and that I recognize and respect you as a person.
when your mother sucks my dick
I'm not driving a TDI Jetta. Full sized diesels sound like 'murica itself. Mine sounds like a jet plane. In fact, it sounds better than any Subaru or four banger at idle. Only thing better is a cammed V8.
Fuel filter is after the pump.
The fuel system is a closed loop system you retard
The nigger at the gas station won't pump anything into my tank unless the engine is off.
You can if you're not a manlet.
youtu.be
>all these anons thinking they're immune to fire
This is true.
I will fuel up my truck with the engine running while smoking a cig. It's diesel, barely more flammable than water. Plus hot fuel gets recirculated into the tank anyway. If you get near the fuel tank of a semi truck that has been running for awhile, that diesel and tank will be hot.
I think everybody is missing the fact that a clogged fuel filter makes the pump work harder, which can lead to a shorter life.
One time gas spilled onto the exhaust headers of my bike, which get scorching hot. I heard it sizzle and I was afraid it was going to catch fire.
True BUT your exhaust is not cooling down significantly in the 30 seconds it takes you to pull up and get the pump out.
You should kill the engine but not because of exhaust temps
