So recently I've decided I really want to get a motorbike, specifically a decently fast sports bike. The only way I can afford it is if I sell my R33 GTST and buy a shitbox. Yeah I'm interested to see what they're like to sit on. I hear the Daytona is pretty aggressive but the fact that its a super thin triple might be a redeeming factor. The Gsxr is just an institution of a bike that I'd love to own, even if it meant I caught the train to work more often.

Sportsbikes are unwieldy as tits in traffic lights, tight roundabouts and usually city crap. Their suspension is very hard, you'll feel any bump. Hard, too. Also, not comfortable at all on anything longer than 15 minutes on a highway, the engine set up is pretty much the least of your worries m8.

I'd go for either the Monster or an MT. The Nuda is way too much of a special snowflake. You didn't list anything else, so I imagine you've already narrowed down your choices. The bike I actually had the most fun commuting on was a CB250. So comfy brah. Sooo comfy.

bro, do not get a GSX-R (or any supersport) for commuting. you will get sick of it. these bikes are uncomfortable, get hot fast, and are very tense. you're in such an aggressive position that it's impossible to just chill which sucks if you're in traffic. i ride my ninja250 more often now just because i can actually relax and sit in comfort

I know a sportsbike is not ideal but I see guys commuting on far more ridiculous bikes than the ones I've listed. I see a BMW HP2, Buell 1190RS and a ZX14R parked on the same street I work on the regular.

Let me see if I can elaborate pham. It means very scarce customer support (Hopefully BMW can help you out) very low used part availability (dropped it and fucked up your handlebars? eBay may not have used ones at 30% the price) it also can even mean low availability for new parts. It also means a low amount of Internet knowledge about the bike (even though it's based on the F800 platform from BMW). One day you may get Error code 23 on your dash, google and... find nothing.

I suppose you can extrapolate much of the stuff from the BMW knowledge base into the Nuda, but you have an ever increasing number of odds against you if something goes wrong. That doesn't mean the bike is a terrible choice, but it does make it less than ideal.

Well I don't commute on my sportbike because I don't wanna waste my street-legal track tires. Also, it's thirsty as fuck. I also borrowed my buddies CBR1000RR for 2 days. No really, I got burns of both calves from the crankcase to prove it.

I spent some time riding already since I had to get my license. I'm a bit tense for sure, my hands feel really sore after the trip because I'm not very relaxed. But the feel of riding just trumps it.
Also, I have a lot of experience driving a car, so I'm familiar with the road and how to expect from drivers. So not really scared about that.

I got it for a steal. The seller (nice older guy) had owned it since 1996 and didn't really know what it was worth.
Everything checked out on it apart from the right mirror missing. Tires, brakes, chain and sprockets etc all good.
600€. Admittedly it's a 1990 bike with 52k kms, but similar bikes are often twice the price in worse condition.
