Used cars to avoid at all cost. (U.S)

What are your picks on the worst cars to buy used and explain why.

Anything made by an American company.
Anything not made in America.

anything gm thats not rwd and v8
thats what they do best.
i wont buy any chrysler fiat anything.
no vw. no Mercedes.

Anything recommended by Veeky Forums, especially anything recommended in the sticky.
Anything made by a now defunct company.
Anything made by a foreign company.
Anything made by a luxury brand (Porsche, RR, etc)

>Veeky Forums in a nutshell

Anything wearing either of these badges.

If it's not made in Japan, it's not for this man.

Mazda Miata
Toyobaru
Ford Fiesta
Ford Focus
Chevrolet Cruze
Chevrolet Cobalt
Chevrolet Camaro
Nissan Altima
Nissan Maxima
Nissan Sentra
Toyota Camry

TL;DR:
>buy a civic and shut the fuck up

Buick 3800 S/C in GTP, Regal GS and other cars was made by GM and was great.

>Veeky Forums in a nutshell

Pre 2005 VW and Audi is goat tho.

great? ugh no. not in my book
if you mean slightly less mediocre then yes.
would never want to own any of them.

Anything poorly maintained. Fortunately, they will usually tell you this in the ad, as it will say "woman owned".

Back when Audi still had their rally-bred inline 5 and VW still made cars for the people.

If it's owned by a teenager too that's also a red flag to say the car has been beaten to shit

i thought audi has a 5
they just dont use it enough

They do, but I don't know if it's as stupidly overbuilt as the old one.

The LS and 3800 engines are the best GM has come up with. Also the small block 350.

Avoid any used car, ever. ONLY buy brand new cars from a certified dealership. Buying any used car there will be problems and will cost you money. Brand new cars are the only realistic option. I highly recommend purchasing any and all warrantied offered by the dealership and/or manufacturer. Also you should always get the highest "trim" aka premium model available. Remember to get your vehicle only serviced by certified dealership technicians as well, all those ugly nasty third party shops will only waste your time and money.

Well I hope that helped you buddy, feel free to shoot me a message and I'd be happy to walk you through financing a brand new car!

i like the 60° engines more
they sound better.
i really dislike you.

i dont like 350's anymore either. you need special snowflake oil because flat tappet cam.
at least pick a LS style motor.

only autists care this much about geriatric-driven cars

Jaguar XJS

So that limits you to jap and german cars made in America

Camry. Just get a Camry.

LOL

TOYOTA COROLLA

Ford focus with the 2.0L is absolute garbage. The suspense of waiting to see which valve is going to lose its seat and when will it finally drop into the cylinder is what turns me off. Call me old fashioned but i prefer cars that dont have to be overhauled every 20k.

Never heard of the ZETEC having issues yet I've never owned one. Had a 97 Escort with the SPI2000 and it lasted 200k

Anything German luxury
Over complicated, hard to fix, unreliable.
Same with range rovers

>unreliable
not really just overcomplicated.

range rovers in the other hand.. yes

but i'd still buy a discovery II in a jiffy.

I almost made the mistake of buying a '04 discovery. I did some research and backed out at the last second despite it being priced at only $4k

Really can't tell if this is a joke, pasta, or genuinely some old fucking boomer car salesman who doesn't know where he is.

the voice of the reason dont listen to the people who talk about the 1/10 rule or that buying brand new car is the equivalent of burning a pile of money.

What do you think?

All W bodies are ugly as shit except this gen of grand prix

Mini. I almost bought one until I saw the amount of people online that complained about the infamous timing chain guide

>timing chain guide
Speaking of...

I'm looking at buying either a VW golf GTI 1998-2003 or an Audi TT 2002. Doed either have any bad red flags?

the mk1 tt suffers from interior problems, but theyre easy to fix, both have minor ecetrical problems, but you'll notice them when they happen.
>mk4 gti owner

>that shit-eating grin

B6 S4
Any Mercedes
VW Phaeton

Any 2005-2012 Chevy
Any 2005-2011 Ford
Any Ford with an automatic
Jaguar
BMW
HHR
Smart car
Cadillac
Mini's
Corvette's
Absolutely everything ever from Dodge

We always have at least 3 Mini's in our wholesale section.

I forgot to include Chrysler.

Never ever fucking ever get a Chrysler.

>inb4 FIAT

I never see these with issues.

>Porsche

lol

>Range Rover

true but certain years.

Is dodge not considered Chrysler and vise versa anymore?
