1987

What was the best looking automobile of 1987?

...

...

Testarossa or Countach.

...

Jalpa or Pantera

Grand Nat

...

Sauber C9

This.

My car, obviously.

...

...

maybe without that stupid front bumper

...

failed to mention the front bumper is from a newer year

>dat GTA san andreas hood

kak

this so much

I don't know.

Is this a rethorical question?

Why 1987?

>Automobile
Are you currently, or have you ever been Jay Leno?

1987 was a nice year for cars. I was close to posting a camaro, but Its the flip up lights that got me on this.

Too many curves itt, it's hammer time now.

Im partial to the 87 Z31 turbo

came here to say this

Tied with Isuzu Impulse.

uuuh guys? OBVIOUS?

No one posted the r32 yet?

that car wasnt even out in 87

which is fine because the GTSR looks better

your mistake is forgiven

Best Skyline

I guess it was introduced in 89, thought it was 87 for some reason

my b

Have you.. Err. Look at the ass end next time you see one in person.

not him but the back looks great

6000 sux

Clearly this car - I mean, just look at those edges! The square body! The hard lines! The 90 degree angles!

Fuck I forgot pic. Here it is

i agree

...

duh

...

Parents had a maroon on maroon '86, GOAT tier road trip car.

Pantera is the correct answer

...

...

What kind of question is that? Everyone already knows the answer.

My shitbox

I think this might be our winner

Clearly

I still see these running around and none of the other shit cars posted itt. Mark series lincoln will always be GOAT.

Can't believe this isn't the first reply. Fox body is timeless.

I always felt it was the ugliest mustang body.

No the late 70's were the ugliest. The fox was just uninspired not good enough to be a best looking car for 87. Though out of the 3 bodystyles though the Notchback is my favorite.

My picks for a car would have to be a GNX or a no, Was going to say the MKIII supra but thats pre-facelift so nah. GNX it is.

I'm afraid this is the only acceptable answer.

what a terrible car

who would ever want to own one of those?

Not the 1987 model.

This is what the 1987 model looked like.

>generic GM car with meme engine painted black
>OMG BEST OF THE 80S YEAH BRO

kill yourself.

nice V6 faggot

Overall I'd agree, but on looks alone I prefer the 288 GTO.

Best Lotus

Patrician

>US spec
Why didn't you trash it?

...

I was going to say patrician and then I saw the full size pic.
I'd rather have this mustang ripoff tbqh familia.

In 1987, Mladen Mitrovic unveiled a supercar that would supposedly be the equal of anything to come out of, well, anywhere. With its 320bhp 5.4-litre Chevrolet V8, the F1 was inspired by Mercedes’ gull-winged C-111; it was claimed to be capable of sitting at 170mph all day, with absolute reliability. Later cars would get a 5.6-litre Mercedes V8 – except there weren’t any later cars.

Tarbo coupes are kinda schweet

It's a concept but 1987

Tuner car.

Again Tuner car

...

You beat me.

...

...

Ruined a perfectly good car

pretty much this tbqh, mazda took the 944 design and made it 10x better

Literally only one answer.

>mazda took the 944 design
What did he mean by this?

PLEBS ITT

Wow, I didn't know you could make an E30 ugly. It almost looks like a pigfat modern 2010's car.

W201 gets my vote, though the FC RX7 is a close second.

so true, they're all red!!!

How is this even a discussion?

I don't think the GTO was ever a 1987 despite what wikipedia says.
Niki Lauda bought the last one in 1986 and that was after the production had finished in 1985

>>yep

I'm the one who posted it, and you know, I was actually wondering about that myself. I didn't think the GTO had been made that late, but I looked it up and saw what Wiki said, so I rolled with it.

Still, awesome car, and I'll always like the look better than the F40.

I know I'm probably out of place saying this on Veeky Forums, but I'm not a big fan of the late '80s aesthetic, even though the cars themselves were awesome. Of course, I'm probably also out of place on Veeky Forums for having been alive in 1987. (Though just barely.)

Undoubtedly the best car from the era, but there are better looking ones out there.

that a Charade? I found one with the CB90 in it on Craigslist for cheap, how's the reliability for you?

I agree, this is a good looking car. I like those head lights and the tail lights too. But I just can't help to ignore, that meanwhile the Alfa Romeo 164 is around, and so is the Saab 900. Please.

I posted it ironically lel. The 9000 is nice but it's not the most beautiful of 1987 in any possible way. Not when there were things like Testarossas roaming around.

Nissan Pulsar with the Sportbak canopy thing.

I like those handles.

The VL Calais

Think of it this way. The 164 for all intents and purposes IS a 9000, just with thinner armor and different engine selections.

The 900, on the other hand...

...

Is everyone posting the wrong car as a joke?

Yeah mate, she's bomb proof,my daily driver
The car I taught my gf to drive manual in
so she's copped some abuse, still rips Skids any day,

I fucking love how the 900 looks but I just cannot deal with that backwards engine. The thought of replacing a drive belt on one of those things turns me away from ever considering owning one.

GNX

I'd buy that for a dollar!

I honestly don't even recognize that. Is it a Cosworth Sierra?
