Are there any known issues that I should look for when checking out the car?
About to buy Mazdaspeed 3
It being FWD is a MAJOR issue, get a WRX hatch instead
lol, would love to but its out of my budget
rear motor mount needs a poly insert
upgrade the fuel pump before ANYTHING
its not hard to do as its located in the engine bay
other than that they are good cars.
What about one of the earlier WRX wagons
I haven't owned one personally but I have heard reports that it was made by Mazda. Mazda, as you may know, is a piece of literal shit, so it's probably safer to avoid it
Thx, definitely gonna get the motor mount sorted out.
nice try opposite of truth guy. But i see right through you
I've own a 2004 mazda 3, beat the shit out of it with no prob lol
1st gen > 2nd gen
The 2nd gen feels so much bigger and heavier, the 1st feels like a small hatch
Torque steer, ecoboost®, rust if you live anywhere that salts the roads.
Oh wow your anecdotal evidence really proves a point
lol, it looks like a turd box. Thankfully Cali sunny weather blessed me tho
The 2.3 turbo is a bit sketchy.
Motor mounts.
Thermostat.
Ignition coils.
Fuel pump.
ECU tune.
If you can afford a brand new car, go for the Focus RS. It's like the speed3 but better.
Get a new budget!
I tried, but for my money most of the wagon is trashy beaten up one
you're a retarded shill
>list problems that dont exist
>shill a $50,000 knock off of a mazda
wew
>It's like the speed3 but fatter.
ftfy
I'm not shilling. I'm just saying if he can afford it. The speed3 is still a very good cat.
>It's like the speed3 but with worse build quality and worse reliability.
ftfy
>Focus RS
>$50000
wat
It's like the speed3 but faster, more reliable, more comfortable, better equipped, and domestic
>worse build quality and reliability than Mazda
He said Ford, not Lada.
Yea I heard Ford took lot of shits for its reliability
Reminder that the speed3 also has FoMoCo parts
That it's 100% stock and you're buying from the original adult owner.
>It's like the speed3 but faster, more reliable, more comfortable, better equipped, and domestic
nice opposite of truth there bud
do you even read?
wew
>more reliable
>Focus RS
>$50000
>wat
Anything wrong? Just a recall on the hatch versions because roadsalt screws up the rear due to bad rust protection.
reminder that parts labeled FoMoCo are most likely to fail
Yup.
No, unless you consider fwd a problem.
What is this "opposite of truth" thing, by the way? Did I miss a new forced meme or am I witnessing the birth of it?
I live in Quebec and can confirm that any mazda over 3 years old looks like that.
Yea, especially the motor mount.
They seem to have fixed them on the 2006 and later models.
I have one for about 4 years now.
Mines a 2011. Never had any major problems.
The clutch isnt very user friendly and i still am not used to its catch point. it kind of has weird gearing. If you're on the high way you'll be switching between 5 and 6 constantly.
The seats suck and the bose sound system is subpar. I'd recommend getting the tech package if you can find one.
I've also read that the first gens have a lot more turbo issues then the second gens.
This.
the problem doesnt exist after the first few years. 2005 owner here and i have zero rust.
Have you ever tried the 1gen? how was it in your opinion? I'm also able to work on car so hopefully it doesnt have any major issues
I have not personally. From what I read on the ms3 forums, they just seem to have an issue with turbo seals.
