Since when do we hate replicas?
>get experience of x car for cheaper and without potentially damaging a piece of history
>sometimes even an improvement over the original
Whats not to like?
Veeky Forums hates testarossa kit cars on MR2 frames n shit
I figured o would hate having it like a fake limbo or something. False prestige and whatnot.
Most fake lamborghinis or ferraris look like shit. A good rep is different.
You mean bodykits.
Nobody in his right mind can hate something like an Eagle Speedster.
You need to differentiate between recreations/continuation cars and replicas.
These days, a "replica" is some piece of shit that just looks like a desirable car.
A recreation or continuation car is built to exactly the same specs as the original. Sometimes they have upgrades like better brakes, but they're the same things you could do to an original car if you owned one. These cars are awesome, and let you experience great cars of the past without risking millions of dollars and/or historical artifacts.
As long as you don't try to pass it off as a original, I'm sure no one would care. Hell, I've been thinking about getting a old ford gt replica ordered for myself.
Are there cars like the rcr 917k that are made in such a way? It looks awesome.

There are more neat cars they make along with this
>same be spoked specifications
>doesn't have a flat-12
>fucking pushrods

The Superformance GT40 and AC Cobra recreations are actually licensed by Shelby, due to the way they are constructed and the fact they use the period correct crate engines built by Ford Performance
>tfw I don't have the money to buy this Bailey replica and fit the current Shelby GT350 engine and transmission(+ a super/turbocharger)
Fug why couldn't I be born a Walton.
Forgot pic
Replicas we like:
when the kit has it's own chassis
based on an iconic car from a movie or tv show.
replicas we hate:
used a random car to look like another car from another car manufacture.
Example:
Ferrari Dino using a volkswagen beetle's body.
Ferrari 308 using a pontiac fiero's body.
how much does an eagle speedster cost? Is it a replica?
>how much does an eagle speedster cost? Is it a replica?
You could have Googled the answer faster than posting.
The rcr 917 is like half the price what gives?
Veeky Forums only hates replicas/kits that are made to be seen in. Replicas that are made to actually be driven and enjoyed can be cool as fuck.
Is a p4 gt40 and 917k a good daily driver set?
No it's a modded e type.
What would you even do with these cars ? Can they even be road legal or are they just for track sessions?
Depending on where you live, a lot of replicas actually can be road-legal.
Replicas of dedicated race cars generally arent, though, since the originals weren't made for road use either. You'd get something like that for track use.
Sounds like a hard choice
Literally white people cars just cop a blacked out Chrysler 300 Cuh.
FFR Cobras are street legal.
