How the hell do I get this plastic shit off the new ratchet I just bought?

How the hell do I get this plastic shit off the new ratchet I just bought?

> bought

kill it with fire

By paying for it, nigger.

Press the dial on the back inward to release that little bearing

Or cut or pry it off if you bought a Shitty ratchet

Click the button and slide it off?

I bought it. It came attacked to a much bigger plastic piece that I snapped off but this smaller piece remained on.

If you cant figure that out then you shouldn't be working on your own car

this.

Push the release and pull on it with pliers. I had one of these things break off in a new 22mm socket and rip open my finger. Worst.

let it rip.

Return it tyrese.

Is that little button you see on the male? Try pushing it in with a pen or something and then pull it off.

Hold the button on the back of the ratchet to release the detent. If the ball still doesn't pop in then push down it with something while pulling the plastic piece away from the ratchet.

I really hate harbor freights packaging. I just pried mine off with a pocket knife. My ratchet didnt have a quick release.

What attacked it?

> This.
OP confirmed retard.

You get a real ratchet to pry it off

>200 thousand dollar ratchet
>$10 ratchet that'll last at least 1 year

Re-buying the $10 ratchet for the rest of your life would be cheaper than falling for the le snap-on finance your fucking tools scam

Not with discounts. I can get an F80 for $50
So for the price of a couple of months' worth of harbor freight ratchets, I can buy one ratchet and have free replacements whenever it goes out.

>financing a $80 ratchet

How fucking poor can you be? Do you finance a tank of gas too? There are plenty of tools made by snap on that do not have competitive pricing and offer only acceptable levela of quality, but their dual 80 ratchets are fucking GOAT and worth every penny. Its really hard to convey how important tool quality is to a hobbyist.

wedge screwdriver in, twist. Its how I've broken 90% of small locked containers and bullshit anti theft devices open.

Snap on ratchets are simply the best. But that is the only thing snap on in my box

You know you also get free replacements at HF right? They replace any hand tool for free.

>every year the $10 ratchet breaks in the middle of a job

this

>How fucking poor can you be? Do you finance a tank of gas too?

don't most people use credit cards to pay for gas? that's financing by definition.

press the release button you fucking twat

or maybe chuck in in a lake because you are hopeless

just hack at it with a flathead screwdriver and rip it off. when i was a mechanic i bought all my tools from Princess Auto (basically Canadian version of the USA's Harbor Freight) and their ratchets had those fucking things on them all the time. 5 minutes with a big flathead and i could break em off

No they use a debit card or cash like non poor people

>not using a credit card
>not getting 3% cash back
Tell us more, Greenspan

garagejournal has a Mac snap on tool equivalents thread. y'all need to stop thinking snap on manufacturers every tool they brand. This is like paying for a Harley Davidson. Great marketing but just about any other bike will achieve the desired result without emptying your wallet.

>They replace any hand tool for free.
That policy is subject to change. They are doing that for now because they are still expanding across america at breakneck speed. Once they finish putting almost all the actual tool manufacturing factories out of business, you might see a policy change from them. It's clear they use predatory pricing tactics.

Take a crane to get it out.

You get more than 3% cash back for paying in cash.

Looks like a fucking dildo

Enjoy your shitty credit score

>free replacements at HF
That's meaningless when it's 2 AM and HF is 25 miles away.

Or drill a pilot hole in, then drive a screw in there and use a hammer to pull it out

Did you just assume that button's gender?

>what are pliers

Kill yourself OP

>can't even figure out how to get the ratchet out of the package

never gonna make it
