Arcade port is rushed and unplayable. If you lose your power ups at the bubbles, you have to stop. You will never be able to get past them.
Snes version is totally redesigned. But it has slowdown as a flaw.

The slalom is just weaving through the columns right? That one is straightforward enough. For the reverse 180 you have to start in one end and drive backwards then turn sharp near the opposite end, otherwise you won't have enough speed. The trick is to chain the moves together so one flows into the next instead of wasting time driving into position.

No, it's not that since I always do that. I think I've finally figured it out. For some reason enabling the CD-ROM causes me to be unable to boot even though it's not in the boot list. Removing the CD-ROM allows DOS to boot properly. I have no idea how I'm gonna install some later Windows OS' without the CD-ROM though.
