BENCH SEATS BBY!!!!

Bench seat appreciation thread?

...

That's one hell of a steering wheel

how are you supposed to sit in the middle of that?

>Tries to do an hektik skid
>Burns legs

>Bench seat appreciation thread?

Bench seats were from the times when the transmission shifter was on the steering column and neither cupholders nor console storage was available in cars. Thus, it was possible for someone small to sit in the center front and seat belts were even available for those passengers.

Well, since you're asking, I'm gonna say no. No one in the world has ever found appeal in bench seats other than Americans with their autoshifters on the steering column and only straight roads to go down.

COMFY

Best way to drive around with your girl

Both a bench and individual seats

Why was she driving.

You'll never experience 1 arm on the wheel and 1 arm around a girl who's snuggled up to you while you drive through the night.

Also, Road head and bench seats are wonderful for the sex.

Tell me Veeky Forums what would be the best 4-door classic with front and rear bench seats?

oh boy

the worst seats ever put into a car

only cringelords like that shit

one of my favorite parts of mah truck. super comfy and fun.

>best
1962 cadillac. but in reality it depends on location and budget.

Hey everyone. Point at this guy. Point at this guy and laugh.

they have literally no redeeming values

shit for comfort
shit for performance
weigh a lot

Neither will you because we're on Veeky Forums and we're both kissless virgin losers.

>shit for comfort
>implying

they are comfy as hell, you must have sat in a shit bench seat.

>shit for performance
duh, it is not a bucket seat. it is for driving around not racing.

>weigh a lot
my couch weighs a lot too, both are comfortable to sit on.

transmission shifters are on the steering column now thanks to muh flappy paddles
bench seats need to come back

>you must have sat in a shit bench seat.

Ive sat in multiple and they were all shit compared to buckets

trucks from the 70s-90s of International, Ford, Dodge, and Chevy makes
El Caminos
Cadillacs 70s
Buicks 70s-80s

a Chevy bench weighed like 100 lbs and were worse than some buckets that were about 40 a piece

Ill stick with the actual comforting hug of a bucket seat

They're utterly uncomfortable for what they're supposed to do. They're just an undefined soft mass with absolutely no support at crucial points like the lumbar or the side. And worse yet they stayed that way for decades even after Mercedes had already figured out near-perfect comfortable but still supportive seats. It's like American car seat engineers were trapped in a living room for half a century.

how is it comfy if you can't cuddle your waifu

That's not the point of a car seat. The point of a car seat is to support you evenly while your body tries to shift around during changing direction of vehicle movement.

how is it comfy if the seats are horrifically uncomfortable?

But cars have different seats for different intended uses. Otherwise every car would have a super optimum Mercedes seating systemâ„¢.

Cuddling your waifu is inherently comfortable. You could be getting stabbed while you're doing it and you'd still be comfy.

>Otherwise every car would have a super optimum Mercedes seating systemâ„¢.
It should. Benches were simply cheaper to make, and Americans love it when their trucks and shitbarges are kept cheap.

no it isnt

confirmed for never having cuddled in your life

if youre on a shit surface its going to be awkward and terrible

bench seats are awful for everything so yeah its terrible
