Do you think buying an 04-06 Pontiac GTO (Holden Monaro for aus fags) is a good idea? Most in my area are above 10K (theres a meme tax on the manuals)

Also which engine should I get?
>04 - LS1 (5.7)
>05-06 - LS2 (6.0)

why would you ever get the LS1

personally I think theyre ugly and wouldnt touch them but sure its an ok idea

Its good asa poorfag alternative to a 5th gen camaro.

The interior is really good for a pontiac too

The ls2 you stupid cunt. How is that even a question.

>Also which engine should I get?

The fuck kind of dumbass question is that?

Get the LS2 if you can, dummy.

It's good because it's a commodore cunt

Yeah cobber. They're tits

its actually a monaro you newfag

They're reliable
They're big
They're heavy
The interior is cheap
They react well to mods

The only problem I can foresee for you is parts availability, but you could always just import shit from AU for cheap because our dollar is a dog turd compared to yours.

It's just commodore with 2 long ass doors. Real monaros are long dead

>which one is better. The one with less power or the one with more power
Da fuq?

The ls2 is bigger and has more power

I...i know i was simplifying the question those 2 were answering

God I wish these things weren't so horrifically ugly

The 2004 gto is a lot cheaper than the LS2 years. You can get one for $10k maybe less. The LS2 ones are more like $14-16k. Which is probably why he's asking if it's worth it.

My dad had an 04 when they came out, shame that it was only around for 3 years. Would have liked to have seen a redesign.

Still worth it

The g8 was kind of the next gen

>horrifically ugly
It's not ugly at all. It's very plain.

Ugly would be a Trans Am or a 300zx. Those are hideous cars.

nah, its fucking ugly. have you even seen one in real life? interior is bad too

>calls god machine ugly
>would rather drive car that looks like a suppository

Although i disagree with what youre saying ill defend to the death your right to say it.

That's badass.

You must get the manual. Autos eat gas (16/24). Manual GTOs get 17/30.

Either ls1 or ls2-- Both are fine cars. Headers will get you 10% (40hp). Heads, cam and headers on an ls1 bring you to 550hp. CAI adds nothing.

Suspension geometry is decent. Springs and bushings will make it handle *really* well. Rear springs were way too soft and sag after a few years. Get stiffer aftermarket ones. $100. Replace all rubber bushings in the front suspension with whiteline poly... $200. Definetly get the front radius arm and shock tower bushings-- pretty much a must.

More never-made...

Hardest part of the car to replace... seriously.

Thanks, Voltaire. But that doesn't make the Trans Am any less grotesque.

It's a snarling beast of unrefined power. Definitely no beauty.
