As a Plague Doctor I can say in confidence that Black Death Steam and Incineration are affected by MDEF.

then they did the same with wizard spells and they did get reduced to 1's

I'm not sure at all but I believe it gives +500 elemental damage but that also gets enhanced by your attributes. So in essence it makes your skill do skill damage + attack + lightning(500) then your attribute is applied.

Or something like that, all I know is that when I've done missions and stuff with an enhanter it definitely did not just add 500 flat damage to my attacks.

To still be able to deal some damage, you just have to RMT your gear on an Elememe and have 90% in all attributes. Easy. Just stop playing when you hit 280 and farm about 300 million silver and then you'll be dealing about as much as a non-funded Cleric.

It isn't a flat reduction you dolt, but it comes very early in the formula. If the monster's mdef is equal or higher than skill damage+matk, then you'll be multiplying a negative/null number. Game treats those as 1.

Defence is removed from your damage stat. All multipliers are applied after this reduction.
If you have enough defence to reduce the enemies attack stat to 0, you basically take 1 damage from them.

Doing more than one damage doesn't mean the other guy's claim that clerics aren't affected by monster mdef is wrong, that image is absolutely retarded. A proper proof would add matk to skill damage, decrease the monster's mdef, then multiply that by enhance and the property bonus.

Basically the game is like this:

>Cannot continue past 280 without Token.
>Cannot quest past 280 without BiS gear.
>Cannot play non-meta builds
>Cannot tank

If new players come in, it should be made very clear that the first 200 levels are just a tutorial like Kim once said and past that it's nearly impossible to move forward alone. You either group up in a guild and become a bitch or quit.
