They have a 1.4 turbo in the Cruze.

They are racing the twin turbo ATS-V in PWC. it is setting blisteringly fast qualifying times against its more intimidating rivals. it set records which have not been broken on some tracks by other GT3-spec cars yet.

I know Asians aren't white but i don't mind having them immigrate here. They don't particularly commit a lot of crimes if any regardless of which part of Asia they came from and are usually (poor or not) fairly productive citizens.

That's the impression i got from Asian-Americans so i wouldn't really count them in the non-white group even if they aren't really white.

2 reasons

First, Ford is doing it primarily for MPG...GM doesn't need to for that. A Silverado with a V8 actually gets better mileage than an Ecoboost F-150. Ford historically (talking on a decades scale here) has been awful with MPGs...even comparing like a carborated 460 to a GM 454.

In 1 trip I actually rented both an Ecoboost F 150 and a Suburban (2014 I think)...The F150, even on the highway I never broke 16 MPG. Meanwhile the Suburban could do like 28 if desired.

Second, turbo motors do require pretty stringent maintenance...which most consumers don't provide. There are already Ecoboost trucks with failing turbos, I wouldn't be surprised if in 5-10 years they'll be everywhere like RX-8s needing engine rebuilds are now.

Our cruze has a turbo nigga, 40mpg and pretty damn fast. Takes too long to get it going though.

Gen 3 Ecotec is both DI and turbo.

GM produced the first production turbo cars.
Both Ford and GM first launched direct injection production engines in 2003 - but only GM offers it on their V8 lineup nowadays.
Ford started producing factory DISI/turbo engines in 2009. GM beat them to the punch in 2006 with the LNF.

Basically, Ford is good at marketing, while not being significantly ahead of the engineering curve (or ahead at all).
