The Genocide ending doesn't make sense, for two main reasons.

The first reason it doesn't make sense is that there is no in-universe explanation for how Chara can be around to be resurrected. If the SOUL is the ultimate culmination of ones being, and Chara lost theirs, then in what capacity are they able to exist in-universe? There doesn't seem to be an explanation for this at all.

The second reason is that the narrative seems to confuse the in-universe context with the meta context when Chara offers you to recreate the world. Chara proposes a deal that you give your SOUL in return for the world to be remade, but if Chara is talking to the player, then what is the player's SOUL supposed to be? The option to get an untainted Pacifist ending? But doesn't that more aptly apply to the pacifist main protagonist, namely Frisk?

If that is the case, then it seems that the narrative is confused, but if it does imply that the player's SOUL is this kind binary input, then that is really trivial.

Has anyone given this any thought?
