How do I improve my general champion spacing and CS? I'm not ranked yet, but according to my friend in Gold that's my worst issue right now, I'm generally sound in 1v1 and teamfights but in lane I'm fucking horrible.

Play Graves and take Smite.

You need to learn how every champion swings their weapon/fires their gun, to last hit. Really getting the feeling for how the character actually does their animation and how long it takes for that weapon/bullet to travel is the key to getting your CSing on point.

I've only played this game a few months now and I just reached level 30. My favorite champion is Brand because it feels good to get a lot of damage off even if I die. I am posting because I think my roommate is tricking me when we play the game together. He tells me Brand support is a 'degenerate' pick and to pick better peel supports such as Lulu, Lux, and Kennen. However, I looked at champion.gg (I apologize if this website is not high quality) and found that Lux and Kennen are not even commonly found in the support role.
However, I also have a feeling my friend sabotages games when I play a new champion. For example, while I was away from my computer he used my IP to buy Rumble (I had been saving up for Yasuo) and then he said that if I wanted to win more, Rumble was the best pick. I trusted him, and when we got into the game he advised me to build a Titanic Hydra first and then a Guinsoo's Rageblade. I was 0/14 and my teammates were very unhappy saying that I was building "troll" instead of AP. My friend insisted that AP was only viable at higher level and heading for a more auto attack focused build would be more powerful against weaker players. I've since played seven games on Rumble and I get yelled at every game! It is very frustrating for me, but my friend is actually Bronze I at the game so he should have the knowledge required to guide me before I get into ranked. I did a quick google search and found nothing about Titanic Hydra rumble being powerful at ANY rank, is my friend misleading me or am I just being paranoid?
