Is there something more to say ?

>still slower around lemans

I don't understand F1. What's the appeal to it?

I want to see shitboxes racing. Like the Group A WRC was.

It's suposed to be fastest races cars
But since 2014 and turbo v6 things have be going kinda downhill
Still faster than anything else thought

>post yfw the fastest lemans lap wasn't set in a V8
BLOWN THE FUCK OUT

F1 cars don't go around lemans but they're faster than lmp1 cars on other track
It's safe to assume ford ecoboost would be BTFO'ed by a f1 even the v 12 ones

>group a rallying
The appeal is i don't need to watch vhs rips from the 90s on youtube to enjoy the sport

>fastest street legal v6 NINE SECONDS SLOWER than a 20 year old 3.5l v8

>damage control
lemans>all

V8 cuckolds BTFO

>Neither by a turbo v6
BLOWN THE FUCK OUT
Dumbfuck

>V8S ARE SLOWER THAN 6 AND 4 CYLINDERS

Blown the fuck out

180 degree v6, fucking retard

Kek
sure buddy

Hum

The audi diesel ?

Group B could make a comeback. Crazy fast things that varied from tarted-up shitboxes to mid-engined AWD death machines. As long as it has four wheels, doors, and you can sell a bunch to the public.

That's the issue, innit? It's dead now. If it weren't shit like the Evo and STi would still be competing (and the Evo in production). Homologation was a gift. Fuck the FIA.

Well i think rallycross fia is here to replace that
It's short fun and there a lot of allowed contact
I don't think you need more than 380 hp to go insane fast on a rally but we need more rivalry between constructor like vw and citroen

F1 has sucked for a long time now.
Started going downhill in the early 90's. Probably 92 which is the worst f1 season ever. People say Mercedes dominance is boring, they forgot 92.

F1 sucked when they introduced more electronic dogshit and aerodynamic which made driving skill less prevalent.

late 90's F1 was alright, but the Schumacher dominance afterward fucking sucked, not helped by the Ferrari International Assistance bias horseshit (see Montoya-Shumacher Malaysia 2002). But at least V10 sounded godly. But still, launch control and traction control made the whole thing laughable.

V8 sounded like angry hairdryers but the 2008 was alright, shame Hamilton is the biggest douchebag alive.
Which is another issue of today's F1, most drivers are giant cockbags. And with Button more or less leaving next year, it's gonna suck.

How to fix f1:
Less aero and less grip.
More power.
No more fuel management horsecrap.
Tires that can last more than 10 laps.
No more paid drivers.

Tires last way more than 10 laps
>Less aero less gripp
>More power
So again slower f1 cars ?
>No paid driver
So only richest rich fags could attend ?
Oh wait...

Overall i think it just need to be faster for everyones and maybe try to stop the domination of 1 team every fucking season
The v 10 were fine in the end

Fastest lap around Le Mans was a flat 12 porsche

>Fuck the FIA.
It was Ford who lobbied for it. They didn't want to improve the Escort to keep up with the competition.
I say lobbied, they basically threatened to leave immediately and the FIA caved in.

>no chicanes
Try again retard.

>still holds the fastest lap ever and has a higher trap speed before hitting the chicane brake zone

Tsk tsk tsk. Even cars before the chicanes couldn't beat it. Try again cuck, benchracing won't help

Nope trap speed are identical (250kph) for the R15 and 917

>r15
>top speed at 205
>lost the record
>slower speeds around the track compared to 917
>is a v10
Shouldn't you be benchracing a 6cyl?

>917
>hit 240
>still holds record even with chicanes and without

But it's not really because of the turbo v6. They limit the fuel, they limit the aero, otherwise you can generate a lot of power with turbo v6 and deliver it to ground.

I don't know the rules but I think the boost is unlimited but teams limit themselves to save fuel.

i thought LMP1 was faster

>Is there something more to say ?
Of course. Congratulations on another quality shit post, may you cancer keep this board loaded with absolute fucking garbage.

F1's decline is the result of many problems, but the biggest one has been the performance divide between teams. Every F1 race since the beginning of the Turbo era has been a parade because Mercedes lobbied hard for the current regulation. I'm not talking about just the V6 Turbo, I mean shit like engine tokens. Allowing you to only do so many upgrades a season due to "costs" but this just worked in their favor because they had the best solution out there.

The sport needs good, hard, and close racing. This doesn't happen for a few reasons, lack of mechanical grip, focusing of aero grip, pay drivers, etc. Big fat grippy tyres and simple aero would encourage drivers to get closer and battle harder instead of worrying about knocking a winglets loose or burning up the tyres. Pay drivers exist due to the cost of running a team and developing a car. So reducing costs would most likely see more teams employ pro drivers. But overall speed and reduction in lap times doesn't make it good. Good on track action does, and that can be done in may ways. They just have to find ways to encourage drivers to drive harder and push the cars to their limit.

a 70s f1 car has the next closest time to the Porsche

a modern f1 car or a car from 2000-2006 would take a full minute off the porsche

modern F1 cars may sound like shit but they're still bloody quick. even with stricter regulations they're getting close to (or surpassing) the 2004 cars power output and lap times.
