Pretty much when your car is an engine, a transaxle, and 10 electrical circuits. They are extremely basic and aside from the transaxle use off the shelf parts from cheap cars of the era. The quality may be shit but there's just not enough to the car for it to be unreliable

You could buy 2 really nice DeLoreans for the price of a Pantera these days, and 2 regular DeLoreans for the price of an NSX.

Get the DeLorean and LS swap it, or say fuck it and 2jzGTE swap it.

The NSX is the best for performance by far, Pantera has that classy, old exotic factor, but at the end of the day, the Delorean will turn the most heads. Its the cheapest too

You could pick up a delorean for around 20k-30k but not in best condition.
A decent NSX would be 40k but they have been increasing in price for a while.
Pretty much don't get a delorean unless you are going to swap the motor.
A pantera would be 40k-80k but you could get a refurbished delorean around that range.
