In the last thread someone mentioned there's a pleddit screed somewhere articulating precisely why BERT is shit. Anyone point me towards it?
Anthony Sanders
Ever since i saw the Civ 6 trailer and i thought it was another facebook/table game so i've completely ignored it.
So my question is, is it better than civ V? dont give me that overused "it needs 5 years of expansions then it will be good!" as they do this with every civ it seems now.
I guess my my real issue is, has it been dumbed down?
Nathaniel Hughes
The game designers clearly aren't.

it's good but ai is terrible and it has some ui issues, but nothing mods won't fix

I assume those porn makes wait for modding tools, taking the models from game after they're released is probably much easier
Wyatt Adams
Only played it a little but seems like a fundamentally better game than V already, just crippled by bugs/AI shenanigans. Hopefully they'll be quicker with patches than DLC.

Thanks guys, any particular reason why its better than V? or is just an overall feel?
>AI issues well.. i guess they are flat out ignoring that issue then. atleast the other civs dont randomly backstab you... right? or is the AI same as civ V?
Brandon Peterson

I think Beyond Earth's version of the AI personalities was better. There were more metrics and they didn't seem to massively over-value hating your actions to liking them, they were more consistent in what they considered a good/bad level in their agenda.

How's civ 6 because it looks like it has a lot of issues similar 5. Is diplomacy a thing yet or can i still expect surprise attack from once friendly civs and being called a warmonger for taking cities from people who attack me.

William Thompson
is it bad that i harvest stone
its such a shit tile

Its very different from Civ 6, I think only the 1UPT issues are similar.
Diplomacy does factually not exist in this game, its way worse than in Civ 5.

Is "Defensive Pact" the same thing as "Alliance" ?
Aaron Parker
We posting shitty memes now?
Parker Thomas
Why are all atomic era themes pretty grimdark?
Is that the period civs are supposed to nuke one another?
a and b defensive pact c declares war at a b automatically declares war at c
Easton Ward
Of course they might nuke one another, but the music seems to emphasize that the end of times are approaching and MAD is inexorable.

Brayden Thompson
So this is what people mean when saying the game is comfy
Ian Smith
nah not really, maybe don't do it at the start. but the way i see stone and other bonus resources that provide hammers is that its there to help rush wonders when needed. its not really worth anything if your citizens can't work it anyways or if you can put a district over it that would give good adjacency bonuses.
Wyatt White
Once you stop building wonders and leave that for others they will hate each other even more than the player.
Ryan Thompson
>Be Grorious Nippon >Game put me near Peter >Peter literally chimp out and declare war 10 turns in >U dun goof'd now >Do jackshit but plunder his shit and farm my units on him, keeping him alive as a city punching bag
Luis Hill
declare holy war and sweep up their religious units with a cavalry unit. peace out. do it again if he tries it again. eventually their religious units will be too expensive to make and you don't have to worry anymore
Jaxon Bailey
It's kinda irritating that they didn't include all of the Seven Wonders in Civ VI.
Thomas Watson
Yeah seems like all those should be a wonder in the game imo.
Which was the first to include all seven? Was it 3, 4 or 5?
Gabriel Rodriguez
Tomyris and Trajan are the only ones I manage to befriend in this game. Trajan is a real bro if he doesnt happen do be your neighbour and Tomyris is waifuable by killing everybody who dares to do surprise wars.

Does anyone know how war weariness work exactly in civ 6?
As in how much -amenities should I expect my cities to get and for how long?
Bentley Murphy
I made peace and war weariness won't go away. Why is this?
Jack Green
Is this how big a huge map is in Civ6 as well?
If so how the fuck do I win a domination victory in this, or even colonize my half the map when I'm competing against a single AI opponent? (Asking for reasons)
Wyatt Wilson
>Diplomacy does factually not exist in this game. For fuck sake. The series is up to its sixth game and they still haven't revamped (or introduce as it seems) diplomacy. Every game has similar complaints in regards to how other civs interact with the player so we get a new fucking art style? I mad.
Ethan Wright
>If so how the fuck do I win a domination victory in this

Someone explain district cost formula
is it amount of techs or furthest tech researched?
Lucas Bailey
you didn't wait long enough for it to dissipate yet
why is the ai so shit why does everyone declare war on me literally the second they meet me i just want to build my comfy theater districts on my own little island why can't caesar and victoria just leave me alone?
Ryan Parker
it's early game i have 5 pastures with culture pantheon and this nig is coming for my cities ruining everything
Jace Nelson
Civ III: Conquests. The Statue of Zeus, Temple of Artemis and the Mausoleum weren't in the base game.
Jason Perez
Amount of techs researched
Jeremiah Turner
Thanks.
How long does it take to go away usually? 1 less per turn?
Jacob Miller
EVERY Civ from I-VI has had 4/7 at launch - the Colossus of Rhodes, the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Great Pyramid of Giza, and the Hanging Gardens of Rhodes.
Civ III Conquests (the second expansion) was the first to add the Mausoleum of Mausollos. the Statue of Zeus, and the Temple of Artemis.
Civ IV Warlords added the Temple of Artemis, and Civ IV Beyond the Sword added the Mausoleum of Maussollos and the Statue of Zeus.
Civ V added the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus (it's the same wonder- it was constructed for Maussollos), the Statue of Zeus, and the Temple of Artemis in the Wonders of the Ancient World DLC pack.
Those three have never been in a base game.
Grayson Cox
>apostles
when i see this i just think zodd and friends.
Cameron Cox
Hanging Gardens of Babylon*, how'd that even happen?
Gavin Torres
War weariness goes up from losing battles "nearby", pillaging, and attacks on the city centre. Occupied cities get an automatic amount maybe. In a defensive war in which I steam-rolled to enemy I had literally 0 WW in my cities and about -7 in theirs. It goes down very slowly or not at all during war and goes down quite slowly in peace.
That's about as much as I've managed to figure out.
Sebastian Moore
Googling that gives me a suspiciously homoerotic furry comic
Isaac Foster
Why the fuck does everyone spawn so close to each other? I literally can't plant a city anywhere without making her mad with forward-settling. I just wanted to sit around, smoke hookah and eventually go to space, but it looks like I'll have to Jihad some horsefuckers before that can happen. And of course everyone will hate me for clearing out some lebensraum.
Jonathan Edwards
Which is the best civ to go tall?
Caleb Thompson
>Saudi Arabia 90% discount on buying Mosques >Theocracy 15% discount on faith purchases >Mosques cost 0 (zero) faith Islam is truly a powerful religion
Benjamin Jones
IRL Saudà Arabia directly paying for your mosques in game in exchange for future terrorists
I don't even like russia as civ but their theme is so fucking baller I always end up doing it
>tfw it gets tense during cold war and the vocal theme starts playing
Gavin Torres
Is anyone else really fucking ready for a patch This AI is just ruining it for me
Carson Jackson
New to Civ games. Played my first game on prince difficulty, accidentally won via science. Second game upped it to king, and I'm actually doing better in all regards? At what difficulty does the game start kicking my ass?
David Young
Arabia has discount for buying mosques? Aren't mosques religious buildings you choose as beliefs during religion creation? What if someone else takes them before you?
David Ortiz
They have a discount on purchasing any religious building they choose.
Jacob Reyes
In every other civ game king is the "taking off the training wheels" difficulty, in 6 it's immortal
Christopher Gonzalez
>Civ6 >Most atomic era songs are foretelling of the upcoming nuclear holocaust >Greece's atomic music is so upbeat
Are they happy they survived the turks so far? Or that even a nuclear holocaust would be an improvement for their economy?

Up it to emprah. AI gets 2 settlers from the start and will most likely get all religions before you even finish building your first holy site.
