>everyone's hyping over the new Fiat 124, which is literally just a remodelled Miata with slightly different specs and a slightly cheaper price >everyone's forgetting about the fact that, a little over a decade ago, Fiat made two really good entry level sports cars
Soo... How would either the Coupe or the Barchetta do as a DD, Veeky Forums?
Cooper Smith
Never heard of either
Good thing they partnered with mazda to make the fiata they needed it badly
Dylan Nguyen
A FWD on a floppy chassis is not what I call a good entry sportscar user
Anthony Gomez
>a little over a decade ago I should inform you that fiat discontinues spares after such time pretty much a death sentence given mtbf
Jason Turner
>Coupe or the Barchetta as a DD if you drive to the garage on the monday and walk to work the rest of the month then its all good

nice sensmaking you fuccboi

One of the coupe's models has a cool 5 cylinder turbo engine but the chassis is garbage. Unfortunately for that era if you're looking for a cheap FF ''sports car'' Honda is the only option
Landon Clark
And Alfa Romeo GTV and Peugeot 406 coupe
Lucas Baker
peugeot only looks sporty, it's not a sports car
Jaxon Wilson
The Coupe Turbo engines are both really nice, especially de 5 cylinder 20v with the 6 speed. Lots of aftermarket, easy power and timeless looks (subjective) in a subpar chasis. You can definately make them handle but they are better suited for highway driving.
Daniel Carter
because the miata is already a good and reliable car now with Fiat styling, the 2 you posted are unreliable, FWD and underwhelming to drive
Jayden Jenkins
>really good entry level sports cars >FWD >the Barchetta was literally a Punto with a bodykit and its roof chopped off
Nolan Rivera
Is the chassis shit? I don't know much about it, but 200hp seems plenty enough for a 90s FF pseudo sports coupe
Angel Wood
It's more of a highway cruiser, really. It's just a 406 underneath.
Christian Bell
The yellow car is one of these with a body kit. They managed to fugly the saloon.
James Wood
Peugeot handles like its on rails and has a pretty decent engine. Still FWD though.
Matthew Baker
aaand the other piece of shit basis for barchetta
Oliver Watson
>shaped like vacuum cleaner, high bonnet or hood and gigantic overhang, >taillights from camping trailer or city bus >coloured plastic dashboard >fish-mouth and bug-eyes face >muh four gandini-fenders (not actually designed by gandini, but ripped off by fuckin' Chris Bangle). Skinny tyres or tires hidden inwards train-like wheelwells. >pigfat and noseheavy version of fiat bravo why anyone finds this crap appealing? it's basically designed to look slow. All these angled lines makes it looks like it's braking even when accelerating.
David Rogers
fwd garbage arent sports cars
not to mention those are ugly as hell
Jaxson Rodriguez
>a car capable of reaching 300km/h with some simple mods isn't a sports car

>actually taking into account what other autists say in this thread about the Coupe handling poorly
"The Turbo also has unique front suspension (which successfully improves handling precision and stability) as well as massive aluminium caliper Brembo brakes. You don't purchase a car like this simply because it goes quickly and handles like a rally car"
"The light Coupe feels nimble and agile with responsive steering. There's also good feel through the wheel, although it does feel a little light at times - it's also a little vague when cruising steadily on the motorway. But bodyroll is minimal and there's decent grip too."
There was never a Fiat that handled poorly. The older ones could fall to pieces, but they were fun as fuck to drive.
Joshua Morales
>It was powered by a Lancia Delta-sourced four-cylinder, with or without a turbo. But even a three-figure budget buys a later 220bhp turbocharged five-cylinder 20-valve model. This will easily match a modern hot hatch for pace, while the handling is surprisingly agile.
Anthony Russell
>It was based on the Fiat Tipo platform, and like all of its sisters, was great to drive, with excellent handling and incisive steering.
