Is Overwatch hyper casual baby or deceptively high skill? I can romp and pubstomp in other casual shooters like Battlefield, CoD, DOOM, Halo, but struggle to leave Diamond in OW. Maybe it's just the matchmaking putting me with more equally skilled people

Could be a bit of both. Further down the rank you go people have more trouble with his turret and with two of them you can hit them from opposite sides at the same time. Not to mention multiple molten cores can rip through QP teams.

You guys told me that solo competitive matchmaking is balanced and that I shouldn't worry.

I am in the higher percentage of platinum and simply wanted to try solo queuing for once. In my first game we got a symetra main that refused to change his character and yelling in Russian the whole time when he died because he couldn't take Reinhardt down himself. I thought he was trolling but when I looked at his profile he had played the game only 12 hours and only 30 mins of it was with symmetra. I am really confused I played the game for 200 hours now and I am decently well with supports and have a %59 winrate. Is this person really supposed to be my peer?

This is not being salty at all, if any of you know more about the inner workings of matchmaking I would gladly like to hear you out. How does stuff like this happen?
