I hope that's the case honestly. It would be fucking annoying as hell having a decent ship and getting swarmed by 10 Auroras everywhere you go because theft is the easiest option for progression. It would also be nice if new players could sign on with an npc company to fly missions in a loaned ship if they're too poor or want to shop around before buying.

Best loadout for vulture? Or a better ship in general? Basically I'm looking to just kick major ass. Link is my current set up. Not really satisfied with the weapons loadout I want something more satisfying.

Hornet was 210 cruise, M50 was 600~ in the Murray Cup. I bet it could do like 950 super cruise.

Ship under-equipped to fight a lone Hornet, too slow to flee, too weak to tank you.

Likely everything up to a Constellation/Crucible if its crew is really bad, the Retaliator should hopefully be "hard to kill".
A Genesis will flee if you can't neutralize its engine or so
A Starfarer is likely too strong to attack without a bomber, especially the military version.

Everything else will kill players who don't understand roles-focused ship.

My personal Vulture loadout of choice. Plenty of chaff and you can sit in sites a lot longer than when you have to go reload a weapon. The burst laser does eat some extra power and you won't have quite as strong shields but it melts power plants and is just a bit faster on shields. If I get a good line up and start on an Anaconda it'll usually be down within a minute. On a related note I traded my Vulture for an FAS because it is just the bigger badder brother and really melts shields with lrg pulse, lrg burst, and 2x PA. If I was to make an optimized build i'd replace the PAs with multicannons though.

well either youre gonna be a murdering pirate who doesnt actually make profits from murdering, or you're someones henchman doing either escort stuff for an org or UEE bitch work for NPCs. profit margin for your services as a fighter to other people will be slim unless they know you well as a really badass fighter and think youre worth having over an NPC in an aurora or something

gladius is canonically an obsolete platform that was replaced by hornets that (strangely enough) cost more money. sabre, being better than basically every fighter, happens to be 10 bucks less than twice gladius price. noticing a pattern?

Different user but I was wondering what is shaping up to be the top solo hunting/traveling ships? Looking to do mostly PvE and jump between fights in ground and space fighting. Currently have the Cutlass because it feels like it'll be maneuverable and pack a punch while able to solo in it especially once it gets the rework and slaving turrets.

A sabre doesnt really give you an advantage over a gladius. A good pilot in a gladius will win every time over a shitty pilot in a sabre.

The way I see it is the gear gives you an advantage, but the skill behind it is what matters the most between at least somewhat similar ships. In the end overwhelming force will win but in most cases the better pilot will win in 1v1.
The one with the better loadout but again, the better ship has a bigger advantage. A lot of space battles won't be decided by the actual battle, but the positioning and gear chosen leading up to it. Gear being the ship itself and what is crammed on it.

cutlass is an excellent ship and likely getting alot better. should be a pretty damn good all-arounder while having more firepower than several ships costing $25-70 more

I'm excited to see the rework on the cutlass. If it is possible to fit a dragonfly and a handful of pods for bounties then I don't see myself moving on from one for a good long time.

it's been mentioned that the space in the back is being reworked with storing a dragonfly in mind

though i think most of the rework is just updating the back half for cargo and modularity, as well as widening the cockpit hallway area to prevent players visually clipping into the seats/walls
