Don't worry, chances are you won't be successful at either job

Get a mechanical engineering degree and work in the auto industry

6 figure salary if you arent retarded

Just don't get an office job, I want to die everyday.

I was thinking about doing mechanical engineering for the salary (because it's mostly office work) and working on cars as a hobby paid for by
>the engineering salary

If I was to get my first certification towards being a mechanic what would it be?

I have an interest in getting into it, but don't want to fuck it up and would like to build my knowledge enough to become a tech for the electrical cars in the future. I don't like them but I know where the money will be.

Brakes and Suspension.

Can I just study up and pay to get my ASE for it instead of going to a school? I mean I already do my own suspension and brake work on my car. I'd assume most of the testing is troubleshooting and theory.

this

Absolutely. Only retards spend 20k for auto classes.

Hands on learning and stay off the tool trucks. You'll be ahead of the game.
