To put it into comparison.
GBF uses BP. You get 5 BP per 120 or 140 minutes, can't quite remember. Unless there's a half BP fest (magnafest) going on, joining ONE magna battle costs 5BP. If you start or MVP the battle, you get one red chest. If you do both you get two.
You farm these battles for SSR weapons. The SSR drop rate for a red chest is about 5-10%, lower for the two arguably strongest elements, light and dark.

Now you want to be good at the game so you'll have to aim for one specific weapon. Every magna has like 4 weapons it can drop and you want one of them. A final pool in GBF usually has 6 magna weapons.
"Okay, that's not too bad." you might think.

Here's where the fun part begins, to git really gud at the game, you need to get the same weapon 4 times to MLB it and max its attack stat. So you need 24 weapons.

Even if you play one of the four basic elements with their 5-10% drop rate, that's basically a 1.25 - 2.5% chance of getting what you want. Usually takes much longer though. Now you need to hit that chance a total of 24 times, one attempt every 120 / 140 minutes.

Of course you got stuff like BP refill pills which are handed out really often but it's pretty autistic overall. In fact it's so autistic, they added a 'medal exchange' shop where you can exchange 5000 medals for one SSR magna weapon of your choice. You get around 10 every battle.
There are more ways to get these medals but yeah, that's the basics. Literally autism : the game.
