L-star basically has infinite ammo and no reload if you use it properly, so why would you even use them?

L-star is however only viable short to mid range.

Extended mag on the L-Star increases the number of shot until it over heats, and Faster Reload is a godsend on it when you overheat it.

I just drop my Scorch and let it rack up those Attrition points while I guide it away from enemy titans and cover it against enemy pilots.

Northstar has 2 good things, 1 ok thing and 2 shit things.

Tone has 5 good things.

I really wish they didn't turn the IMC into cartoon villains. Would have been better if they ditched the super weapon crap and made either 2 campaigns, one from each side and the story ends with the two pilots and titans killing each other as the war rages on. Or one campaign and you get to pick a side at the beginning. The militia actually being portrayed as terrorists that are willing to bomb civilian targets so long as it damages the IMC military in some way. Then the IMC desperately trying to maintain the peace and protect the civilian populations forcing them into an increasingly draconian living where the colonies get turned into police states because the IMC is being stretched far too thin and is desperately awaiting reinforcements from core worlds.

Both sides with good intentions, the militia fighting for independence with any means necessary and creating a sort of free for all society, and the IMC trying to maintain order and unity and has more socialist/somewhat communist ideals while still allowing individual freedom.

Northstar fully charged shot does one bar of titan HP, or 1.5 if you crit. It's really bad. Even if you hit only crits, bodyshotting Tone has like 2x the dps.

Unless you're shit you will easily gain the most points while in a titan. You shit on reapers and fodder, you wipe the floor with pilots and can take down several titans.
