Hey i just got HOI4 for 4 dollarydoos. Whats a decent nation to start with? Italy seems kinda cool. Seems weird to me that china/PRC have no unique focus though considering their civil war and war with japan basically starts WW2...

CK2 WTWSMS is the actual name, typos are evil.

It means they released two under cooked games and decided to cook the more profitable one to completion while milking the other with irrelevant fluff and literal pay to win dlc.

Eh? Can you tell me more about this? I assume the other game is Stellaris? Stellaris doesn't feel unfinished to me, it just feels pretty boring. Unfinished is Sword of the Stars 2.

It was a carcass of a game at release. It's gotten better or so I'm told, but it's still a long way from a good game. As to what do I mean by abandoned, look at size and frequenc of stellaris patches versus hoi4 patches and see for yourself.

I played stellaris at release, most of the changes there have been so far are superficial balance changes and some AI differences.

Sots2 wasn't unfinished, it was a disaster and it really still is. Early access games are mostly alphas this days, no shit they are worse. Stellaris on release hardly qualified for beta status. Even something as basic and necessary as expansion planner was missing. Sector AI was retarded as balls. Ship balance was nowheere to be seen. Half the fucking ship AI modules didn't work period. You may think this is a complete game, I certainly do not.

The thing that really pisses me off about sword of the stars 2 was how easy it would be to fix. They ironed out (most of) the bugs over time and they added a lot of the shit they intended to, but their arrogance convinced them the mission system was perfect and needed no fucking changes when it was the cancer that killed the game. Even if there were no bugs or missing features at all, the game is made literally unplayable by the mission system taking control of your ships out of your hands.

I don't like talking about Sots2. Sots1 is one of my favourite 4xs of all time. It's depressing how much they screwed up and how little they unscrewed in their supposedly finished enchanced edition.

How would CK2+'s Great Schism mechanics would mash with HIP?

HiP has long been ignoring everything pre 1000. It wouldn't.

Germany is still the easiest to start with, any of the majors are fine. China didn't get its own tree because they knew they could sell DLC for them, which is why only majors have them, see the Commonwealth dlc adding trees for the minor Commonwealth

Which game? I know there is an event for this in Victoria 2 as HPM has an event where the Ottomans lose their cores in Egypt.

How all this stuff manages to work together is a miracle. EU4 mods hate each other, but CK2 mods are incredibly "tolerant".
