i thought brz sti was planned tho?

anyway, it's more of a concept but i wish an american manufacturer would make a lightweight, turbo 4-cyl FR coupe shitbox

that looks so much cleaner than the regular GT86...

What does STi stand for?

something turbocharged, idiot

Super Titanium.

Subaru Tecnica International
The brz sti will not be turbocharged.

Happy birthday you degenerate pieces of monkey shit.

sexually transmitted infection, it's more of a warning label about the driver since herpes/clap carriers seem to self-select to them

sexual transmitted infection

Wheres the silly hood scoop

Would buy one tomorrow if this was announced.

...

And there goes the STi brand.

You don't need a hood scoop on that one, it's not AWD.

STi was dead on arrival.

>'hello darkness my old friend'

...

Too soon

Fuck BMW and everyone who looks like them.

fuck that shit

just sell me my $13k RWD shitbox please

...

WHY IS IT SO ANGRY?

because it knows it's never getting produced

>tfw senpai refuses to notice you

cuz he knows people are just gonna get a miata

hello

fixed it

whats the deal with the sfr, does it have an ETA on it? looks like a jap porche desu

>turbo
>sub 200hp

>not getting a tune and turning up the boost for $500 for 250-350 hp at the wheels

its an expensive piece of shit car, why not just get the gt86 then and put a turbo on it to make 400hp

lolololag

that level of boost scares me, and that's before taking into account that it's an Italian motor

>why not just get the gt86
because
>boxer engine
>compression ratio is too high foor good boost on lower octanes (or any at all really, would need to rebuild parts of engine)
>would need to install turbo kit which is more time and money
Those 400 hp gt86's you see either run e85 or have redone motors which is $$$
wot

stock Fiatas aren't even running 10psi

get everything done under your warranty period and once it's over you can turn it up with a reliable tune and no modifications needed

yeah we all know the hood scoop is for cooling the front diff

>why can't i get a 500hp rwd sports car for 15k :(

the dude on motor trend said they run 22psi

I'm seeing reports of the base car pushing 22psi

i doubt the 400hps have rebuilt engines, maybe aftermarket injectors and clutches or some shit but thats all, after 400hp i imagine you have to rebuild the engine. Plus some tuners that specialise in Subarus said the brz engine is the best HP gaining engine theyve worked on

from what I can tell, most of the tuning complaints come from Toyota based groups
>waaa where's my inline 6

the rods are tiny chicken bone looking things and the compression mean 400hp is pretty much impossble on pump fuel.
maybe you could do it but it would need a massive turbo that only boosts at the top end to avoid breaking bits

Ah, did some research
The EU model has a larger turbo

Just buy a larger turbo. The US turbos are literally baby tier.
>i doubt the 400hps have rebuilt engines,
In order to boost a high compression engine, you need really high octane fuel (e85/ 100 octane+)
Or to change the internals to run a lower compression

I have no interest in running an e85 car or paying $4 a gallon for shell v-power 99 because it's hard to find out on backroads

>wot

You've never driven a car with a piggyback like that have you? What it does is trick the ECU into reading low boost, so the car says 'lets add boost!'

The result is not some magic across the band kickass improvement except in the dyno chart, it means the turbo spools higher. That means when you're cornering and off throttle and go hit the throttle, it feels just like it did before the tune, so you put your foot in it and wait... and then it starts surging like it did when you hit the boost when it was OE... and then you wait... and THEN it starts pulling like the +40hp you paid for, and then you brake again because you hit the next corner.

Unless all you do is shitpost on forums or drive in straight lines 'tuning' turbo motors with

REEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I mean, theres bolt on turbo kits that you can order for the gt86 that go over 300hp maybe even 350 and yeah theyre quite expensive but they exist.

don't forget the base car already has pretty bad turbolag

the 124 in that gif is the rally version which has the engine from the Alfa 4C

It's technically available, but for an insane price.

Really cool retro futuristic design

>i doubt the 400hps have rebuilt engines,

If they don't they will soon. Trust me I've spent far too much time browsing ft86club, some people have lost motors at 260whp with shitty tunes. On stock internals, unless you like buying and swapping in junkyard engines, you shouldn't really push past 300whp.

If you want big numbers, don't bother with an 86. If you're ok with modest improvement the smog legal kits are pretty badass given that you're going from like 160whp to 240whp while maintaining reliability, 50% power increase from a 12.5:1 CR 2.0L with just a blower and a tune while being reliable and emissions legal is fucking amazing. Anyone who thinks otherwise lives in a fantasy land.

I mean I've actually been considering getting a gt86 but the 8 sec 0 to 60 is ridiculous desu, its like slower than a civic.

I dont get this emission meme, is this an american only meme or whats the deal? im in EU and no one here gives a shit about emissions

The ECU on the 124 is fully tuneable

It's the same ECU they're using for the rally spec variants
I don't want a car that can only run 100 octane +

That shit is either hard to find or expensive. I'd rather stay on premium pump gas with a low compression engine and go enjoy my backroads.

needs a black stripe along the side skirts that says
> TURBO
in white text

I think the Cosworth supercharger is a neat piece, 270ish hp, then save up for the bottom end so you can increase boost for 400hp.

it's a california thing.

6.5s i think.

so what youre saying is that I should go with the turbo kit that offers the least hp?

>forum.miata.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=161

The tunes, numbers, and performance people are already getting out of the stock turbo car right now is insane
Been paying close attention to threads as I'm tempted to get one. Cheapest/best turbo engine and chassis on the market right now.

Damn that looks crazy. I am not a fan of the roof though, it looks blah compared to the rest

>I dont get this emission meme, is this an american only meme or whats the deal?

I don't know what the fuck you do over there but yeah, over here the gubment don't like it when you shoot half burned particles into the atmosphere causing serious health hazards.

It's a wonder Los Angeles is still habitable.
>pic related

>I think the Cosworth supercharger is a neat piece, 270ish hp, then save up for the bottom end so you can increase boost for 400hp.

It's the same hardware as Edelbrock, and Edelbrock already sells a smaller pulley for you iirc and can be bought with a smog legal tune.

If I had to pick it'd be a tossup between Jackson Racing or Edelbrock, whichever seems more reliable when I'm ready to do it in a few years. If Cosworth gets together a California legal tune it'll enter the running but right now it costs more and isn't street legal where I live so womp.

No I'm saying if you want 400hp buy a fucking V8 and you'll be happier.

>Cheapest/best turbo engine and chassis on the market right now.

The MultiAir has been around for a long time Yurop should have figured everything out 5 years ago and we're reaping the benefits. Just try and drive one that's tuned before you drop >$25k on a lightweight low powered car because 'power is cheap', it may not be as fun as you hope.

>talking about how outside of dyno sheets the actual performance is not so great
>post Dyno-Queens: the Subforum

>The MultiAir has been around for a long time Yurop should have figured everything out 5 years ago

The engine in the Fiat has a different engine code and specs from the others I'm seeing
>he doesn't go and test drive the demo car

whats a low weight car with a bit more hp than the gt86?

S2000, RX8, MR2 SW20 turbo (with a little boost)

dunno how much the s2000 weighs but doesnt it get 200hp stock aswell? just like the gt86

Why did this car design meme die it was hilarious

...

>can't into google

240 at the crank, but less torque at 153 ft-lbs and a shittier lowend because vtec. It's a bit heavier than an 86 though, but you get double wishbone front suspension out of it, a good alignment, brake pads/fluid, tires, and a full once over to make sure nothing is going to brake or catch on fire and you're good to go. The 86 needs some camber mawds up front to flog it hard because it's macpherson strut.

But at this point in terms of $/niceness (not beat to shit) a used 86 is dead even with an S2k, it really comes down to a test drive and your current situation.

because everyone and their mom started having turbo engines

I have an erection
Low pressure turbo doesn't count

Dodge Challenger mini???

I get why they don't want to do it. No one would by the current STi with this thing out.
