Budget Advice

I make ~$3000 a month. Rent is $1000. I want to keep all my other expenses to $500 so I can save the other $1500 but I didn't come close to that this month. Any advice on where I can cut back?
pic related.

Restaurants, concerts and whores, cut back on those.

You're gym is over a hundred a month? Mine is ten, planet fitness

Get rid of the alcohol budget all together that's literally something that doesn't improve your life.

Or maybe put it into your restraunt budget instead.

The point of alcohol isn't to make your life better, it's to make bearable.

>food, dining, groceries

plan your diet and prepare food in advance

>alcohol, bars, sex

funnel this into a budget for finding a miserly gf

your gym should not be $125 a month when there are multiple $10/month gyms. just saved you $115 there.

a lot of the other stuff I'm ok with because it's important to have a life. many successful people advocate earning more rather than spending less.

So you pay for gas but not insurance? And how is your cell phone bill so low? I'm asking because I need to trim my budget too senpai

if you can stop paying for parking (walk a bit) :D cut eating out down, down load your comics, cut out alcohol only go to small bands or cheap shows. I have timed my budget down that I save 1200 per month and I only make 1800 also move somewhere cheaper I found a illegal apartment I only pay 430 all the other places like mine in this hood are like 1200

My father was an alcoholic don't give me that bullshit. If you can't function sober then your a sack of shit end of discussion. If life is unbearable talk to someone and work on yourself.

I go to a climbing gym and a normal gym, but true I could probably cut back on one of them.
Insurance is only once every six months. For my phone I use Google's Project Fi, and only 1GB of data. Great if you're in the US.

Just because your personal experiences with it are bad doesnt mean it's that way for everyone...

>entertainment 137.93
What's this? I don't even spend that much per year.

Ok, if you want to do some savings, drop alcohol, drop restaurants, have a revisit at groceries, but foor monthly shopping that's pretty ok, drop entertainment, you will actually need to up the transportation cost, because there are a lot of expenses you aren't counting, drop the gym and go jogging and get free porn if sex costs you 140/month.

And just curious, where are you that the rent is 1k?
Does it make sense to find something cheaper?

Suburb of DC. It'd be difficult to find something much cheaper, I already have one roommate. We pay $1669 for rent but after cable, electric etc it comes out to ~$1000 or a little less.

Why do you need cable for?

>whores

His costs are pretty low actually. I go to a whore once a month and pay more than that.

>Paying for sex

Oh wow lol

I am guessing sports

>Food and dining:
Restaurants to a minimum
Groceries - $130
Alcohol - $50

>Entertainment
Don't buy video games you kinda know you won't play
Comics - $40
Concerts/Events - $60

>Gym
Home workout routines, p90x torrent

>Cell phone
Re-evaluate your contract

>Sex
Don't pay for sex my man

> Gym
> $124.90

Jeez dude. My place is huge, has everything and is nice. I pay $19.99 a month.

As for climbing, just go climb for real, the climbing gyms are lame, it is not real climbing. To brush up your skills use one of those grip boards at home.

Also, food mainly. There are many fruit, vegetable, rice, and legume dishes that are great. Invest in some good spices and dressings, those can dress up food.

There are some remarkably cheap whores out there. If you go to them, you will get some sort of STD for sure though. One shouldn't be stingy when it comes to prostitutes.

Paying for a date that leads to sex.

I mainly use it to watch baseball, and there's a few shows my roommate watches. If I was living alone I'd consider dropping it.

I keep telling myself I'm gonna quit prostitutes and try and get a gf but it's hard when I'm drunk and horny...
Had a date this past week so it's step in the right direction.

Build a home gym

You mostly just need a power cage/squat rack, bench, 4 45 lb plates, 2 of every other kind, and a barbell, all of which can be bought second hand.
At most you'll spend 1000$ which will pay for itself within 10 months.

if you're not opposed to going to food pantries at churches and other non-profits we can axe the food out entirely as well.

then split the insurance evenly over 6 months, and budget for it every month, then when month 6 comes you already have the cash ready
