are rally tyres even worth it in forza horizon 3? I've been doing some road/dirt mix races with my ford escort cosworth, and with regular tires and rally tires, it feels the fucking same.

The physics are shit (specially at the start), but I love free roaming and exploring, so I'm being entertained. You should try it for free.

Make it a mix of the two. Either lose some tire width and have a grippy compound, or have a less grippy compound and more width. Add some power. Then git gud at throttle control and suspension tuning. I recommend 0.1 degree front toe out, ~1 degree of front camber if it has less by default, 0.2 or so degrees rear toe in, and then slightly soften the front sway bar if it still isn't turning in nicely. Just be careful not to make an oversteer monster.
