All games after ~Oct 2016 require a Pro patch. That includes weeb games.

The faster load times come from PS4 Pro having SATA III which means it should in theory take advantage of SSD/SSHD. This should be revealed on Monday when test are done.

So if I mainly play those kind of shitty games, can I worry about upgrading from a Slim to a Pro later on and such? FFXV is about the only one I'm seeing that's planned on being updated and such, but I don't know if I need/want to upgrade this soon after getting the Slim. But I just couldn't pass up that price for it.

You could sell it and pay the difference. PS4 is so easy to sell and since you have the Slim even better. FFXV is gonna have a dynamic resolution between 900p to 1080p on OG PS4. It's gonna be a big difference on the Pro.

If money is a problem then just stick with the Slim.

Mainly just don't see the point of it really. I mean, FFXV is going to be the one exception that's going to take advantage of and run better on it, but almost everything else I play is shit like Digimon, BB/GG, and various other things. The money isn't a bit aspect, but I'd be lying if I said I would be fine paying for another PS4 so soon after snagging the slim for 200.

Damn 200 is a good deal. Yeah Japan needs to up their graphic game. Gameplay wise they are still king.

I'm not going to buy a Pro right away. For the next 2-3 years the only advantage will be higher performance. Eventually devs will abandon the original but there isn't much of a reason to upgrade.

That's basically why I jumped on it after really thinking about the fact that the games I usually play aren't exactly focused on graphics and performance is not really an issue with them.

It's an open world walking simulator.

You explore a British village set in the '80s, encountering motes of light that represent the people who used to inhabit the area. Something happened, and you find out over the course of the game. Think of it as an interactive radio drama, with just the open world as a visual foundation. There are no clear features to distinguish between the cast of villagers--it's left to your imagination as the scenes unfold; dialogue shapes your own idea of what they looked like. I also bring up the radio drama comparison because you rotate the controller like you would the dial, to activate certain scenes.

It's a drama, not a horror game. The point is to tell a story about the end of the world, or at least this small slice of the world, and how the people in it find themselves more concerned with their relationships.

Whether you like walking sims or not, I think it's worth playing for the music and voice-acting (some of the absolute best).

It's just that I cannot stand horror games at all. I don't like that feeling of impending doom, where I expect a jumpscare every time I round a corner. I read a couple of articles earlier, saying that EGTTR makes you extremely uneasy, and that it was considered one of the scariest games of 2015.

Are there jumpscares? I'll play it regardless, but I'd like to be at least prepared.

Sounds like the people who thought Gone Home was somehow "scary." But no, there are no jump scares. You'll walk upon scenes that begin playing automatically, which may startle you, and that's about it. As far as uneasiness goes, it does a good job at creating an eerie atmosphere, thanks to the believability of the characters. I grew attached to them, and it really does feel like the village has been abandoned, though not fully. It's a strange presence.
