recently bought DS3, first souls game ever with 72 hours on this character. what do I do now for stats? I love using my fume ultra greatsword and have a well balanced set of armor with the "best" rings (steel protection +2, favor +2, knights ring, havel's ring). the fume is a beast, I one shot nearly every mob in +2 and when I go to pvp its just one lucky catch and I can stunlock somebody long enough to get a second hit in which is the finishing move.

Yes, but they aren't easy to use. You need really good spacing if you want to play with them without a shield. The L1s will disappoint you at first because the first one is rather bad and doesn't combo, but R1 L1 is a true combo that does really high damage and if you hit L1 again after that it's an excellent roll catch.

The WA is okay, the knives don't do much damage but if you press R2 you do a lunge poke that combos into an R1 if you manage to land it.

Crits with it are insane, so going for roll backstabs and such things with it are encouraged.

The best way to build them is Sharp infusion on a 60 dex build, and with that you can also grab a Chaos Blade for the weapon matchups that are bad for the Quills, like long greatswords.

I dunno but tons show up. I also place my duel sigil in anor londo at the arena for shits when im bored and usually get summoned within a few seconds

If you do that you're just using them as a boring copy paste thrusting sword with more crit damage and less range, you may as well go with Estoc then. The real way to play them is on dual mode like other dual weapons. It's more fun that way, and still very good.

You use it in dual mode. It just gives you the ability to hyper armor through something and have an attack that's unparryable. The only times I ever use the machete is if I see a WP or someone commits to a running attack and I can kill them with the trade.

FYI you can use any arrows with the Millwood bow. The explosions are caused by the WA not the arrows.
