No idea about the third but I'm betting it can't be worse than second. It butchered what actually made 1 somewhat unique, was small as hell+tedious. I do like the new characters though.

What made 1 unique for you that wasn't in 2? The fact that you couldn't go out into dungeons to grind on demand?

The overall dialogue and atmosphere was just plain better I kinda felt everything was developing too fast in 2.

Also I didn't like how they removed the restriction on the number of magic skills you could use. That actually forced you to think which unit to include and when to include. I did like how you could control almost everything, that was really needed in 1 but at the same time I hated how they removed Darx's skill tree where you could build him however you wanted to.

You could build however you wanted to, if what you wanted was to build pure AoE magic and health. If you went any other route combat in the first was miserable.

Not him but one had a better flow of story and the relationship development between Darx and the other characters (especially Shia) was done well and felt like it happened over time.

Yea that was the thing, even the side characters felt more fleshed out in 1 mostly thanks to a lot of side events it had.

In the second part I felt like they could do more with whole invasion thing rather than rushing like that especially towards the end.

A lot of the jokes were "too lewd" for the all-ages version, so the two will have a different impact. However, because the plot is still the same, it will be difficult to re-read the 18+ version when it comes out if you read the all-ages one now.
