there's no point in grinding for gear in preparation of tw2 anyway since the few items that do carry over are rendered obsolete very quickly. just do the things you enjoy and don't worry about the rest

raven armor will be fine until around the middle of chapter 1 or so, iirc, but i think the swords become worthless much faster. though now that i think about it there should be a mod to improve the imported equipment, so you can look into that once you get there

For now, kind of. Is easy to learn, fast, fun...
Problem is, there is only ''casual game'', and everyone plays there. That leads to some very imbalanced matches.
If you are new to the game (just got you key) or don't invest much time, you are going to get rekt. Just like that. And not because ''muh p2w'', no, cause the reward system is actually pretty good, but because everyone you are facing already has a ton of battles on his back, has a competent deck and has no mercy.

I feel like once they release ranked battles and go open beta this will fix itself. Pro players focus on getting better while casual focus on having fun in the casual game mode.
Otherwise, is shit. People won't have fun cause some slav will kick his ass with a full Scoiatell deck.

There are some less annoying things you can run to win a lot though. Skellige have some decently easy self-harm combos to pull off with the Savage Bear that I've used with success, and Monsters are very straightforward. I don't think I've lost with Monsters except to people who clearly have better decks unless I've made a mistake.

It says that you're matched on approximate deck strength, but yesterday I won like 80% of my matches including some against people who had no chance (I won 2/0), so it's far from perfect.

Yeah, there is a matchmaking that sucks flaccid cock. It works like shit. You only have to take a look and you'll see that newcomers are forced to face better rivals. I'm a mediocre player, I think my w/l must be ~50/50 , and I have to face people that brag about a 90% win ratio, that brag about having 200 kegs opened so far, etc, etc.
I understand that is a closed beta, so the player pool is limited, but still, is weird as hell.
In any case, as said, I'm sure this will be fixed ''soon''.

Never used a breeder deck before. Mainly cause I can't imagine it working.
The nekkers and arachs are simply too wear. One lacerate and they are gone.

It's dependent on making the enemy spend it on something else. Also it can't be the only trick in the deck, I have something else up my sleeve as well.

I can add that it's a useful tool to force the enemy to use a lacerate against 2-strength units if he want's to avoid the spam as well. Frees me up to play other units without fear.

Skellige deck with a dimeritium bomb, svanrige and ermion, freya's priestesses (including the silver one), a decoy, and ciri - is a ton of fun.

Over-combining your hand with spies and re-gen cards lying around becomes a bit of a hassle tho.

Managed to out-last the 82 totalling trebuchets in the second round, even.

Looking forward to when I can field a decent Skellige deck myself. I have fun with it already, but it's missing some cards to make it as good as my comparatively cheap Monster deck (lucked out with Caranthir in a Keg pretty early though).
