Thanks, couldn't fit the link in the field

>tfw no charm spell that makes enemies your allies for a while
>tfw no frenzy spell that makes enemies attack each other

why?

2000 character limit

Is spiral arrow shit? I really want to like it but the more I play, the more limited and situational it's usage seems to be.

It's for applying status effects if you want to conserve your arrow useage because you're poor/can't carry many.

Did you do a True Hyperborean Barbarian run, /ddg/ ?

>want to make a sneaky assassin using sword and bow
>no dagger roll
>no shield block
How do I make this work without just buying a million curatives?

corkscrew arrow is GOAT

>put on cursed king's belt
>game crashes

...

what are good base sliders to make a qt loli?

oh that was an old bug, right?

yeah

>trying to stand on boxes to jump up to a chest on a ledge
>pawn break the boxes from under me

So pawns learn from how I play? Am I reading that right?

So if I switch to fighter and guard all the time will she do the same?

even to the point of hilariously failing all their blocks and dying every time, only trying to block during combat at all and being generally useless

that is, if you're a shitter

Since we're talking about teaching pawns, I've noticed that my sorceror has been picking up my habit of shooting focused holy bolts. I wonder if that will stay a behavior that only begins when she has an active holy enchantment or if she'll just do that all the time?

No, that's meme. Bestiary knowledge and inclinations are the only things that affect their behavior.

>set pawn and I to strider for a chance at the lvl 3 longbow or Magick Bow
>Framae blades
>Framae blades
>Framae blades
>Framae blades

This Orla bitch is really starting to get on my nerves

Since Striders and Rangers are a dime a dozen, would I be better off making my pawn a Fighter or Mage?

Not yet

Clairvoyance kinda does the job.

Did you know that if you hold a kindling, and stand by a fire, your kindling will light up and act as a lantern?

You can even throw it and set enemies on fire, in theory, but you can't because you can only walk while holding it, not run

The endless cycle continues...

I'd say mage, given that a reliable healer is so difficult to come by, I'm always looking for a better one.

So I was thinking of combos, and I'm sure someone has thought of this but it's got to be the most satisfying combo you can do to a single human enemy.

>Light attack
>Pause
>Light attack flurry
>Cancel last light attack immediately after hit box is thrown out into charged heavy attack
>Stab followed by shoulder tackle
>Cancel endlag by using antler/tusk toss
>As the opponent lands on the ground in front of you, cancel the endlag of THAT by using downcrack for the finisher

Holy fuck it's savage and it's awesome

Webm it.

The How to get DDO guide is out of date. Plebbit's is also a bit out of date with certain details being untrue now, but it's more accurate than what the OP here has.

Nobody here seems to actually play it, though.

That can be easily disproved with Exodus Slash.

Did anyone notice how protective your pawn is of you, after the ghost of Daimon arises from the body of the Daimon monster?

Did you also know that

Even if you play on online mode, during NG+, your Seneschal is your old Arisen? I was afraid it would be a random Arisen and his loli, but it was old me and my old pawn.

I think my fashion has improved since then

...

>reach level 100+
>now anyone who is borrowing my pawn is doing BBI runs so she's inevitably getting killed by death over and over and over forever

Tell your pawn to git gud.

>walk into ur dragon room
>it's already on like 2 HP
>get the last hit

I think I just cucked one of you guys

>Dragon's Dogma actually came to PC in your lifetime

...

I should probably prioritize speed over armor as a strider, right?

Armor doesn't really matter outside of early-game hardmode.

Resistances = Fashion > Speed >>> Armor

But that's just, like, my opinion, man

Oh except for on pawns. Certain resistances, like sleep > fashion there

Thanks for the tips, guess I'll have to keep an eye out for gear with good resistances.

Prove it then.

Also post a diff of the save file before and after.

And you, post a source about

If you could train pawns, it would have a star system like bestiary and location and quests, right? It's just logical

>If you could train pawns
You can, but there is no fucking magic behind it: agressivity, behaviour, picking a target and a bunch of values about skills.
> it would have a star system like bestiary
Bestiary knowledge/Weaknesses has been added to avoid pawns being useless.
>and location and quests, right?
Locations have nothing to do with training. Quest knowledge is just there to help players.
>It's just logical
Try again.
Pawn training is real but not really complex.

>You can, but there is no fucking magic behind it: agressivity, behaviour, picking a target and a bunch of values about skills.
Inclinations.

biggest debilitations are Sleep, Petrification, and Posession

>Inclinations.
There is more than just inclinations.
Open a save and check by yourself.

There isn't. People have scoured the savefile and haven't found anything related to "pawn training" yet.

>There isn't.
Go check a save instead of parroting Reddit...

nobody cares to learn moonrunes

how do I get my pawn to not ho full retard when fighting or fleeing Death? I haven't had a single pawn that knows what to do, they never get the fuck out of the way

There's an english patch though

I dont want to use a proxy

I've been modestly successful with challenger inclination pawns that don't have "stand there" skills, and then kiting death myself. Usually, a sorcerer or a bow using class can have death on his ass throughout a fight by spamming knockdown skills, and the rare time where you do not, pick a pawn up and drag her away.

I really would like to see your source actually. You've been parroting that notion since the beginning of time and have never shown anything for it when asked. If anybody googles pawn training, dragon's dogma, most source indicate it exists. I find absolutely zero technical data about it, though I've admittedly never observed reddit's take on it.

Live! Live!

i think the best you can do is fill out your pawn's beastiary so it knows to avoid death's scythe and lantern

You can turn if off once you're logged in.

wow, you nerds still playing this game? Come on it's 2016.

Yes, the year the game came out on PC.

but it came out in 2012 and 2013.

And 2016

Even at 3 stars pawns will happily get scythed while not sleeping.

Welcome to BBI, where pawns climb dragons regardless of vocation, jump over chest into chasms and don't even try to get away from Death.

It seems devs fucked up the AI in there.

It's almost as if the island was designed to drive you mad...

I find it's actually easier to solo Death since you don't have to deal with pawn management and them standing in front of him.

Would making my fighter utilitarian be a good idea? I really just want her to be a tank.

Scather/pioneer

scather for primary for sure

Is Act of Atonement a good skill?

Doing a new play through and holy shit, I can't believe how much shit I missed in the Bluemoon tower.

Is a jack of all trades character viable in this game or do you pretty much have to specialize if you want to do any damage?

I just did a run though the first and second strata of bbi and I got shit items

Min/maxing is pointless. Do whatever you want

your equipment and passive skills determine a lot, but playing, say yellow classes for several scores of levels will get you a character with a lot of stamana, playing red levels will give your characer more defense/attack, blue gives more magic.

But generally equipment and skills are the most importart

This. Equipment and skills account for literally 90% of your stats. The difference between min/maxing and leveling in the worst way possible for a class is like 300 stat points, and endgame weapons give 3000 of a stat.

Besides, only like 3% of players even make it to level 200; wasting all your time playing a class you hate when there's a VERY good chance you'll never even hit level cap is real-deal retarded.

Thanks.

Oh my, I didn't know you can upgrade your items straight away to level 3 if you have level 3 ingredients.

Only the rarefy upgrades require you to get the lower tiers.

It's even possible to go from 0 star to dragonforged, by killing Grigs/Urdy

why can't my pawn's behavior just stay one way?
now she's climbing everything as sorceror because I'm playing a yellow class

somehow her inclination is fucking guardian again also

What's her other inclination?

scather/utilitarian usually but I just realized

I forgot to equip her archistaff after trying to get yellow purifications. It was in her inventory the whole time.

We were fighting a cursed dragon and I forgot to tell her to use her weapon, what kind of an arisen am I? She was trying to punch its horns off.

Also what's up with some of the official inclination descriptions? Is challenger for attacking from a distance or for attacking enemies who attack from a distance? Also the talk more/less thing is worded very oddly.

>scather
Not sure if you also meant that when you said you realized, but it encourages climbing, so make sure you get rid of it.

oh shit, never knew that, it's usually described as "attack the strongest first"

it was kinda cool to see her ride a griffin high into the air once, but it's hardly helpful most of the time

the tendancy to climb, I mean

Are there any other hydras in Gransys aside from the scripted one?

There's one more scripted one and then I think 2 or 3 more spread between Everfall and Bitterblack, each in their own little arena. No fun open world hydra fights, sadly

There's one in the Proving Grounds post-game

>tis so small, it's no threat to us
Wut

This is some next-gen shit.

Current Squads?

I'm running with a trio of yellows right now because it's honestly kind of funny to see monsters attack them in vain. They just roll away or perfect reset from just about everything, it's a treat to see.

Sarcasm?

I thought they did a really great job with the billboarding on all the foliage. Even though I already knew about it I wouldn't even notice it until I was right inside a bush or something.

i think when you don't manage to kill one the next one shows up as a tiny version

man, postgame is so fucking DARK

I'm running 2 sorcerers, a ranger, and a fighter. Going pretty smoothly so far, it really helps that the ranger is using the ice longbow and actually targets shit like metal golem medals.

fighting against two prisoner goreclopi can get pretty tense without healing items

I got a Grand Glicel/Seism ring, which seems to be pretty helpful so far.

I just reached Gran Soren, entered the inn and accepted a quest to escort Ser Berne to the Shadowfort. Problem is that I have no idea how to get there and even if I did it's probably in a much higher level area than I am.

The quest description said it was a one shot deal, so does that mean if I cancel it I'm screwed?
