yeah, the konig sucks not because its bad but because its T5. also its just the kaiser again. the bayern is cool, nothing special about it. the gneisesau is fast, a big downside though is that it only has 6 guns.

should i get the furutaka? id only been interested in the kuma but it seems like a fun ship. i didnt get expert marksman for my 2nd skill cause i never planned on going past the kuma, is it that big of a deal?

Furutaka is a good ship, but the CA paradigm plays quite differently to Kuma. You need to pick your shots and molest citpussies with devastating efficiency.

Expert Marksman is very valuable to the taco, and even more valuable to Aoba and Myoko. Don't bother playing her until you've free XP'd the gun module either.

How does the Play Together thing work? Do I get the ships too, or just the guy that uses them?

compared to pepsi its a good ship, compared to the russian CA it has better torps and apparently better dispersion. it was suffering to get to mogami because of the tier itself. myoko has no radar, it faces many BBs that are accurate enought to one shot it, asides the lack of concealment that mogami needs to be meta.

at tier 6 you can already feel the collapse of the CAs to the pressure of accurate BB shells. myoko can easily be the best cruiser of its tier, but its also where the lowpoint of cruisers start. IJN CAs start to really shine early, and it continues thanks to furutaka's last hull, but aoba is the peak.

from that point onwards, the IJN CA line only works when you can invisifire or abuse some other mechanics. they all feel far frailer that they should be, they dont have radar so they cant fight DDs like USN or RU. it just feels lacking overall, and much of it is because its a CA, rather that the line is faulty.

Tier 5 is like a 20 minute grind my dude

its whole trick should be eventually nerfed. it can invisifire, wich should disappear with BBs no longer being allowed to invisifire thanks to smoke

I only play a handful of games a day in multiple ships so grinding takes a while. Farragut doesn't seem like a huge upgrade so I'm thinking maybe it isn't worth it.

I don't know, as someone who mostly plays cruisers I think the Myoko still holds up fine, it's just where the punishment for mistakes really starts to ramp up. Also with the favorable MM it's not too badly fucked by seeing T9s that much.
It's the Mogami where the suffering really starts, mostly because it's just a Myoko without much in the way of improvements and importantly can now see T10 and the most extreme powercreep.

Zao isn't that hard to citadel, you just don't aim for her magazines since they're underwater.

All ships can who have defensive fire can replace it with smoke or heal party.
Downside, firing in smoke reveals your position for 3 seconds.

i had no issues invisifiring with mogami, and before that i had no issues dodging shells thanks to the new propulsion mod. myoko suffered without either of those mods, and more often that not i had to consider breaking engagements that i never would on mogami either thanks to invisifiring or because i knew i could somewhat reliably dodge BB volleys.

it was annoying to dodge at my maximun fire distance but it was doable, wich im certain why the mod was a godsend to CAs and CLs, the russian and american line cant invisifire so this should really work for them

real issue at that point lies on the fact that if you look at the effort and care you place on myoko or mogami, you can see a much better return for any other class you play. cruisers are simply crippled, if you consider that IJN dont get radar, they cant even work well against DDs, so its one role less they got to do
