This is Carthus Curved Sword after the patch.

Lost 10 points of base damage. Lost some weight. Uses less stamina.
Other curved swords untouched.
Falchion for example still has 117 base damage and identical scaling.

How significant is this?
Currently on PC a +10 Refined CCS at 40/40, 2h, has 463 AR.

After the patch it will have 423. 1 more than a one-handed Refined Falchion.

A 40 AR hit is VERY substantial for a curved sword, now you can trade with it safely with almost anything, even rapier. It still has a godly curved sword moveset but it's not nearly as broken as it was prior to this patch.

On a negative side, shitters will flock back to estoc and longswords.

Murcury if you want area denial for longer just don't walk into it. Shit has a pretty good range on it. Snap freeze is only useful in crowds or against stupid people.

14 vig, 29 att, 60 int, 60 fai. Everything else standard pyromancer class. Four spell slots. Great Swamp Ring, Witch's Ring, Sage Ring +2, Fire Clutch Ring.

If you're willing to drop back down to 9 vig, or lose a spell slot, you can pump five points in to str & dex to use the onyx blade one handed.

Spam chaos fireballs with fire clutch and both pyro boost rings, cast speed ring is not AS necessary but helps a lot if you're not going dex, not really a build per se but a a method I've use on multiple pyro-centric playthroughs

feel free to raise str a few points to equip the new healing shield and Onyx sword, then drop th eknight ring, assuming you have the DLC.

Its not great.

Every other projectile-based pyromancy is superior, except for the basic Fireball.

Like, you can potentially score a higher total damage if you luck out and connect with ALL the fireball particles on a single target. But Fire Orb, Chaos Fireball, Vestiges and so on are all superior alternatives.

I remember some talk about some retarded DEF loss if you aren't wearing armor on all slots. Like even taking off a cloth hood signifficantly lowered your DEF.
