Personally I think CS was worse, while SHoC had the best.

I loved Strelok in the SHoC cutscenes, but then when I heard him in CoP my love for him died a bit.

I feel exactly the same, but then you have no idea of how Clear Sky butchered him. If his name wasn't Strelok I swear would believe him to be some random loner.

This fast travel feature is broken or something. I can only fast travel to Zaton. Yanov doesn't unlock.

I didn't play enough of clear sky to hear him, and if I did, I don't remember him. I really need to finish CS.

The problem is barkeep hasn't told me to visit the Duty base so I can't get in. This is rather annoying as I'm about to deactivate the brain scorcher and they've given me several "destroy the lair" missions I'd like to collect on.

Any tips for a work around?

Where did Doc go? He is not anymore there where he was supposed to be after starting a new game in story mode. He just vanished. Do I even need him or can I also trigger the quests by entering X-18 for example?

I am a retard, mistook the duty base with the bar in general. Yea, climb the tower next to the guards behind the sandbags. You can only go to Petrenko though, while the rest will open fire on you if you get spotted by them. Getting out can be a bit tricky. Either launch yourself out with a grenade or jump through those metal beams that are in front of the windows

Lost Alpha came out long ago, it's shit.

I don't know if you remember a mod for CoP called S.M.R.T.E.R.? Well, it evolved to something called Call of Chernobyl, it's the same shit but better polished and actually finished unlike LA. It's the MOD that everyone is playing right now ITT, because is the freeplay mod to go.

Damn my man I'm fucking puzzled, it's strange because ZRP fixed that CTD when you talk to NPCs.

Your best bet is just removing the gamedata folder and do the whole process again of unpacking your mods.

Yep, they focused too much in new features that they forgot to actually populate the goddamn maps.

They're working on the "Director's Cut" (lel) that it promises to populate the maps and fixing all the shit.

BUT SURPRISE SURPRISE

It turns out all this time (like two years) they were working on useless things like skills (really, fucking skills in STALKER) instead of doing the most important thing.

CoC was supposed to never ever release because its premise was merging all the maps from the three STALKER games with full A-Life and repeatable tasks, which was actually a lot of work on the level of Lost Alpha.

And here we are, playing the CoCk instead of the dream mod.

No, what I meant was that everyone here were saying that Lost Alpha nor CoC will never ever release because both had the same amount of work. Placing dem spawns around maps is fucking hell you know kiddo.

CoC actually came out because the guys who did it actually stayed in line of what they wanted to do in the first place.

Lost Alpha promised the good old stalker, but with revamped maps (because they couldn't just port the old build maps because they looked like shit). Instead, they decided that doing fucking SKILLS would be very good ol' stalker like.

Maybe if CS was completed (playable without crashing every 5 seconds, being a different game and not CoP-beta)

actually LA promised too many things, that only a pro and paid team could achieve in an organized form, like a game maker company. there is a limit what a hobbist team can do, so don't expect ever a Stalker 2 for free, whatever and whoever is saying this bullshit. anyone can make big statements, like "Have you ever dreamt about playing the old, forgotten S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ?"

CS doesn't crash every 5 seconds anymore.

There's still tons of bugs and grenades.

But then again, ShoC is considered better than CS and CoP, and it was bug ridden as well.

I prefer million of times a fun game with bugs than a boring game with only 3 maps that is stable.

With CoC we literally have all three STALKER games for free :^)

I think it may be that those who go to the zone are the ones who "don't fit in to society", ie loners, criminals the desperate not saying women cant be that but i doubt a chick would want to go to a male dominated zone full of bandits, monsters (human or mutant) and anomalies. Unless they are a reporter, rich tourist or a government worker, but maybe i'm just being sexist i don't know.
