Useless section

It's been WAAAY too long since I tried to make a tileset. Fuck me this is hard.

pls donut steel

like I would steal that cartoony RPG Maker dogshit to put in my masterpiece

I don't need a gateway to Gay, thanks

Rebuild your game and post your warning count.

Thanks to the user that pointed out the shitty proportions. This is what happens when you don't look at references.
I think it's a bit better now.

remember

...

NOICE

now model or make a cutout texture for those teethies

Warnings trigger me, I treat them like errors

still working on the juice

Then you spend too much time fixing warnings that don't actually cause a problem.

Warnings are all simple stuff, if you fix them as soon as they pop up you dont waste even a second doing so

Needs some build-up, like dark particles coming together to form the portal starting with a few seconds left on the clock. And death needs more than just getting touched with an instant pop-up like that.

Y-you're mean!

There's no net difference between fixing them when they pop up or later on at once.
I'm saying 90% of them aren't even worth fixing.

Getting some spyro vibes from that arch.

You're going to hell if you don't believe in God.

You're going to hellot if you don't believe in Godot.

I like youu

What does this have to do with gamedev?

i'm a firm believer of slaughtering all religious people, burn religious books and buildings/monuments. Even melt the very sand touched by religious feet and send it to space.

The Lord works in mysterious ways

I'll be fixing them, because otherwise my Debug.LogWarning() statements will get lost in the clutter

Praise Godot.

Done.
I might work on it some more tomorrow but I'll prioritize modeling and animating the other dinos.

So I've got my idea for the next super beastseller/memegame/indie bomb.

Now where do I start?

Trump/Pence are religious nuts.
America is the foremost gamedev nation.
Therefore all American games must be pro-god.

someone on discord said it needed anime animation.

Do you own the game you make with gamemaker?

Yes.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I didn't play much Spyro as a kid...

are you ever going to fix that fucking arrow

I was that user, I like the improvements. T-Rexes can stand more erect if necessary, the head just bends better than what you had, but that new one looks far better balanced.

Is there a reason the mouth is squared open? Are you planning on animating it to bite/roar? A simpler way out could be just closing the mouth and texturing fake teeth on as a skin.

Fucking this holy shit.

Can we add this to the OP?

Spyro The Dragon is one of my favorite games ever and still looks good to this day, so good.

it's held up, tight mechanics, gameplay, cohesive and consistent art design. sound, the whole package.

>I can ride on nostalgia by borrowing a few stylistic elements from ps1/n64 era games
user you're a genius. Thanks.

You can tell which games are good because they use GameMaker and Unity

Reminder that someone ACTUALLY posted this in /agdg/:

>A floating point means that the number has, well, a floating decimal point. Its decimal point is at any arbitrarily chosen position. (the position is not RANDOM, just ARBITRARY -- it's chosen based on the needs at that time, but those needs can be anything.)

>Usually, computers have a set number of digits to work with, but can put the point wherever because the math still works out fine. So the difference between 1.2345 and 123.45 is not that big, computationally, in base 10. (computer math is done in base 2 because le ebin binary may mays actually having root in real computation despite most binary converters and the like being totally arbitrary in how they interpret things; computers use base 2 because they only have "On" and "Off" to work with as numbers)

>However, to the user, a moving decimal point can represent a large difference, because the significant figures you can use are necessarily limited.

>Obviously to us, a computer has LOTS of digits to go through, but let's say that we have some fairly small number of them, like 5.

>If I want to calculate physics stuff on a cartesian plane streching out to "Very Far" units on each side in 2d. an object can be at a very precise position near the center, like [1.0082, 2.5598], but if it's far from the center, I star to lose precision. 10 units out, and I can only go to 3 places. 100 units, and I can only go to 2 places, like [650.25, 554.47]. If it's more than 99998 units out, I lose whole individual units as I start to having to define things like 1.0000x10^5 for being at 100000 in any coordinate (but not just htat, but now using much more memory because I have to store "1.0000" and "10" and "5" instead of just one number.)

Lol. Just fucking lol. :)

Welp, there goes another thread.

>source is in the op image
delete this fucking troll thread

you're probably being ironic, but for one i'd welcome the wave of ps1/saturn/n64 styled games devoid of meme hd lowpoly with open arms

Have you even read The Art of the Deal? Trump is definitely not a religious nut.

you can save it with progress
if you had a game

are you sure?

Amazing. Simply amazing. Why are people that stupid allowed to post?

>he uses his own engine
FUCKING D R O P P E D
Engine kiddies are BTFO

Amazing that all these posts appear at around the same time.

Lol. There goes my pet project again. Keep dncing, monk monk. :)

There's no rule against it, all we can do is ignore it and wait for Veeky Forums to add reply hiding

I could frame this post right here. A total wretch of a nodev namefag, years of shitposting behind him, ravaged physically and mentally by his own attention whoring and meme retardation. The worst ever, stooping to the deepest lows

You can begin by killing yourself.
Then, in the next life, you can download GameMaker.

Nostalgia or not, Spyro was excellently designed. There's a good article on Gamasutra that explains some of the techniques they did to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Ignore it. It's the autistic shitposter at it again. He posts that image as well as many other over and over. If the post contains the worlds "full sail" you can safely assume the poster is a retard.

So, yeah, I guess here's your (you). Good job.

Reminder that there never was a successful enginedev in the history of agsg

Gamedev is like sex: enginedevs don't have it.

Yeah I was planning on making a roar animation. As you can see here I added some teeth.

In the mean time, here's some progress on the dino birb. I didn't use reference for the wing movement so it's probably shit.

That's a swimming animation

swimming through the air

Did you make at least one animation while using a reference?

no
I know I should, I'll go back to them tomorrow anyway.

Whatever you say, Woody

So you're a retard then?

They are decent anims, don't get me wrong, but you really should try making some with them to make them look better. You don't want to end up working for Bethesda.

HAHAHAHA I am in tears. You actually think you're going to accomplish anything. Hilarious.

Where's your game?

will you just leave, or a janitor can ban him jesus

He has none, it's the same sad cunt from earlier.

Couple of things you should look at if you want a more Nintendo look:
1. Ditch the outlines.
2. Use rim lighting.
3. Use pastel colours.

you say use rim lighting, in what sense?
I know how to do it, with fresnels and such, but like, do I ust make the rim glow a colour similar to that of the assetts main body material? make it glow the same colour as general lighting (an off-white almost) or something more?
>use pastel colours
yeah, that's a good point, I knocked the games pallette up too quickly.
Cheers both of you

Lighting colour, I'd say.

Can you make a phone game using this stuff?

What stuff?

These engines

this stuff
*unzips dick*

No

Yes, with some of them.

thanks for the help
this whole thing has been a gamble/passion thing so this stuff is super important to me.
