Got a Wii-U console at Goodwill today with no cords or controllers .
Wasnt in the market for one, it was an impulse buy. I honestly forgot that it had the tablet controller.

You can play a large amount of games without it, but you should check the pictures of controllers on the back of the box for each one you buy so you don't make a mistake.

Not much, get a newer Pokémon game.

Yeah, I think so. There are definitely some frustrating things about it but if you can look past them it's still a fun game. Alternatively I recommend HeartGold or SoulSilver.

if you're nostalgic for it, you'll probably enjoy it. if you're used to newer pokemon games, it might be hard to go back, though. still one of the best original game boy games.
