/ddg/ - Dragon's Dogma General

Tips:
You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
Character appearance can be changed later on.
You don't need pawns, but they help.

well perhaps it is time

Just hit level 119 after killing Death, good time to fight Daimon for the first time?

Dragons Dogma 2 when?

>first time
You're overleveled actually.

Dragon's Dogma is the best.

tfw lower post-daimon BBI levels are kicking my dick in

also why can't my pawn stop picking up my tactics when I'm not playing her class

>immortals set
>those pawns
nigga your way past ready

Damn what's the typical level? Am I overleveled for Ur-Dragon?

Ur-Dragon and anything in the Everfall I do before BBI, if I bother to.

>typical level
i'd say 80~100 is what most people do it on

Is there a guide for building loli characters (mages in particular) anywhere?

a couple of the characters in that google doc look like lolis

>picked up DA from humble bundle
>haven't played since DA was released on consoles

Now to spend 900 hours in the character creator and hate what I came up with.

>finally satisfied with how it looks in character creation
>get in game
>looks different
fug

This is on Humble Monthly this month, for 12 USD with some other meme games. Will it get cheaper than that on Steam this winter?

Oh, and how's the overworld in this game? Almost every negative or mediocre review mention that it's boring as fuck, and really backtrack-y. Is this true?

There is 0 chance this game becomes cheaper than 12 dollars.

I just jumped on this and canceled the subscription immediately, I don't even care what the other games are. Can't wait to get comfy af starting a new file, downloading it as we speak.

12$ for dragons dogma alone is the best offer so far
it'll most likely be at 20$ during the steam winter sale

Well Daimon wasn't too bad save for that fucking vortex thing, ate all my pawns. How bad is the second form?

heh
hope you bring periapts

>Death spawns while im unprepared
th-thanks

two fire drakes and death waiting for me right in the next room

...

Can Death instakill those Firedrakes?

i don't think so
he just swung at me while both drakes were in the way and didn't kill them

yea just confirmed
nope

Why is it so easy to get over leveled in this game? It totally ruins for challenge for the vast majority of the content.

Is there a good 'readjusted balance' mod?

Anyone here play DDON?
I want to party up with someone.
I know japanese, I don't want to party with the japs..

The last time I looked for balance mods, they just made the game easier.

Support Pawn RC Gains:
1st Support Pawn:54,000 RC
2nd Support Pawn: 54,000 RC
fug
i promise i'll try and get you lads around 500k rc

yo if you can h*ld my h*nd i'm up for it

Currently downloading on ps4.
There's crossplatform play right?

for the vortex of death thing I just spent most of the fight in the back of the room where the wrecked throne is. call your pawns to you and hope they aren't dump enough to move away from the back of the throne, since daimon always casts from the center of the room

sorry bruv no idea
i'd think so

Anybody wanna send me a copy of the game on Steam? Poor fag here, shameless begging I guess

I stopped that shit with a grand seism once. Then he successfully pulled another one off and I got stunfucked to death because boss killer sorcerors can't do jack shit on their own.

Why the fuck are the giant gorecyclops so goddamn annoying? They rampage from the beginning to the end of the fight.

Any help for another poorfag wanting to play the game? [email protected]

Trying to steal my spotlight mate? I don't think so

steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198240419198/

you wanna play this game user?

steamcommunity.com/id/Graywolf_d_45th

i know you guys are poor, but 12$ from humblemonthly is a real good deal

what default inclinations should my mage pawn have? i know nothing

guardian and medicant, they're the best inclinations easily

>try to remake character in other games
>shits difficult
dogmo spoiled me

Utilitarian and scather.

you guys are giving me conflicting recommendations

Don't listen to them, read this first: dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Inclination

Guardian is all around bad and scather is good for close combat classes only.

Utilitarian is very good for a mage as it allows them to prioritise party buffs like spellscreen and affinities. Scather is very useful depending on your build, you can replace scather with mitigator, this mainly depends on whether you're using your mage for large enemy debuff applications like burning and torpor, or for smaller enemies. Generally it's a good idea to have casters target larger enemies as they take longer to die and is such a lesser chance for spells to be cancelled mid-cast. Guardian is poor for mage as guardian decreases enemy tether range and also the tether range to the pc, as a result of this they will follow you into combat, and if you happen to be a melee vocation they will end up getting in the way and being hit alot unnecessarily. Medicant is poor as it decreases the threshold of damage taken to inititate healing considerably, which cancels otherwise more useful skills to heal minor damage.

continuing
making this fucker in skyrim is a mess, even with all the sculpting mods which I'm sure are great. Fuck even making the others

is it cute?

see

Did you know the common mensfolk of Gran Soren will fight each other at night?

Male bandits are very nice to you if you give them skulls and do their escort quests

Never used Humble Monthly, if I buy the 12$ membership, will I get Dragon's Dogma right away? don't really want to wait and don't care about anything else they might offer. Also, I'm I able to redeem it on Steam?

I've only used Humble Bumble once, but I think that's how it works ...

I'm not sure about the Monthly's but from the regular bundles you choose to get a code to redeem on steam or whatever service the game applies to or a link that automatically puts the game in your steam account. Unsure if that applies to the Monthly bundles as well

I seee Ritz! Hope she treats you well friend. I just manage to goldforge her frammies, so that should have an effect.

I'll take that risk, thanks.
This wasn't really clarified but when I buy it, is the game available instantly or do I have to wait some time before I can use it?

My pawn looks fine when her mouth is not open.

You should get it right away. You might have to check your email first.

Hey /ddg/, just started playing and finished my pawn (pic related).

What are the things to keep in mind when setting skills that people would find desirable for renting?

Also, does she look good? I think her forehead might be too big.

Going through the game normally, you mostly need to stay on the ball about equipment upkeep. Don't let your pawn run around with cruddy weapons, though armor can just be for looks.

Make sure the skills are all efficient ones, kisses and splitter being crowd favorites. (Im assuming she'll stay a strider.) Volley is a decent bow skill, as is the one that shoots a bunch of arrows in sequence.

The core skills, you'd benefit greatly from taking her through the warrior class for a little bit in order to grab ferocity and bastion.

Otherwise, you'll do well and everything will come naturally.

I'm in doub t whether to make her a Ranger or keep her a Strider, any recommendations?

Trying to experience all the content the first playthrough causes this, which is pretty shit design, desu.

>Those graphic settings

I'm glad you people with toasters can still experience the game, but good lord

Test both of them out for awhile and see which one you like better. Thankfully, Ranger and Strider both don't trivialize one another somehow, both being relatively on par with one another.

I'm playing on PC with a gamepad and struggle to hit shit with my bow. Is that normal and I need to git gud, or is there a fix?

If you're playing melee they're mindlessly easy. You just stay between his legs and pray that he picks up his club. When he finally does you just stick to his right leg. He always goes right leg forward, left forward, left back, and sometimes swats around which makes him rotate. Just be careful when you need to revive your pawns cause that's probably when he'll fuck you up and send you flying to the opposite corner of the room.

You need practice, I guess.
Mouse is better without doubt, but I had no problems with bows using a controller.

...

you'll definitely get used to it

say what you want about the guy but hes one of the most reliable people in all of Gransys

I tried to recreate both my arisen and pawn in the MMO.

Arisen was an old, kinda gruff, bearded warrior. It ended up looking as if he was using fake eyelashes and there was just something not right with his eyes.

Pawn ended up a Final Fantasy character.

I feel there was a world of difference between both character creators.

i can't into donut steel characters

You'll ne'er hit anything if you swing blindly, arisen!

Wait, I can't get the Arisens Bond when I fucked up the Selene Quest? (missing the Quina Quest)

I know this feel
Some games it's just fucking impossible to make a type of character

Playing tabletop RPGs helps

Yep, it locks a lot of content.

are pawns in the middle of the dragons maw animation immune to the dragons roar ?

Yes. They are impervious to most things in that state.

>tfw waiting for new GPU to come so I can play this beautiful and fun game at FULL EH D
It runs pretty well actually on my current outdated setup but hot dog, I'd kill to play it at a very high quality.

I bet Death can still scythe them in that state.

Yep. Eliminators can bullshit-stomp them out of DM as well.

Hey /ddg/. I'm working on this graphics mod, and I was wondering - how much bloom is too much bloom? I know graphics aren't a big deal here as much as other games, but I'm curious as to what people think, if anything.

>wiki says elder ogres can be spawned infinitely in the bloodless stockade post-daimon
>follow every step
>doesn't work
Well fug

Which ENB is recommended when one doesn't want an overbright lensflare world?

If you don't want overbright lensflare world, what do you want? Just vanilla with fancier shaders? Eye-poppingly bright colours? Moody hues?

Just get resonant and edit it yourself.

I used this one:
drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ZBhU09xA-YbDBlcDNKY1duY0E/view
It was made by someone from these threads.

this looks real great !
personally i really don't like bloom and keep it at minimum when possible
but i've seen people from here post their screenshots looking way too bright

Are the pawns saying Dire, Pyre or Fire Drakes?

higher

Nothing. They just climb it.

And strike from above?

I have it!

>you'll never fight with 5 eliminatours with uncle Dante as a warrior again

And why not? You can just create a Dante Pawn and live in the fallen city.

So can you even get into that room in the fallen city that's halfway up a cliffside and lit with yellow torchlight?

I'm guessing hitching a strigoi ride might get me in there...

There's no strigoi in the fallen city though. Maybe a dragon if you can lure one close, but I suspect there'd be an invisible wall there anyway.

Actually I'm wrong, supposedly they can spawn before beating daimon if one enters and exits sanctum. Too bad I've never done that I think.
