Everyone and their mother would be s/l'ing (dc'ing) against high-ranking teams in order to go first or reroll on failed procs. Since this method would result in nearly everyone winning against teams with any ratio higher than 1.00, the ranks of those people would be inflated, and you would have to employ the same methods or actually use lapis and refresh orbs if you want to stay within the top 30k ranks. It's going to be like trying to earn a high score in Pokemon Shuffle challenges while the browser exploit was still alive.

No, you don't understand. There's no reason to reset anything, just carry over the battle state exactly as it is.

So if the coin has already flipped, don't reflip it. Just keep that information stored, and keep it stored locally so as to not change the server load (the game already does this for every other piece of content).

The only ONLY exploit I can even imagine would be using units to test the RNG seed for whether or not a particular status would proc, and then resetting if it doesn't to use a different move with that unit. So casting Bio Blaster, let's say, and if it doesn't poison anybody, reset to use sunbeam instead ...etc

But this could be solved by having it remember what units you've used too, and not resetting them to the beginning. It's that god damn easy.

If you were to d/c or close the app, it would have about a 90-95% chance of putting you back 1-3 seconds before the app was closed. If you're quick and observant enough, you should be able to tell whether or not status procs have landed on an enemy right after the action (e.g. Hex Strike) starts; so, if a desired proc hasn't landed, you would be able restart the turn by immediately closing the app.

But Maxwell is mostly a physical attacker, a light based one. She's pretty damn good for being totally free, dispelga, a 4.0x physical light attack, maneater, INSANE fucking base ATK. Useless in the arena because cecil, but she'll be great for a long time coming.

You might have to use CoD/Diablos to face Maxwell given that since we lack Exdeath 6* for cheesing her and Carbuncle for resistance. I have Tilith so Rainbow Veil is going to be a given.

To be fair, the team composition japs used againt Maxwell isn't different from what we can pull off, except Garland doesn't have his 6*, neither does WoL or Tilith or Exdeath or even fucking Rain

Elza doesn't stand a chance against Maxwell, she'd be pissed on and thrown out in a second.

Bitch is frail. Hell, CECIL is frail and he resists all her attacks.

It doesn't remove debuffs, it removes enemy buffs. It's dispelga, which is a very premium move in this game.

Bosses are gonna start self-buffing a lot more often.

She does have an 80% auto-phoenix thing, but it's built into a 3-turn 80% self ATK/DEF buff. It's pretty sweet, considering she has passive MP recovery to soak up the cost.

Her AoE is also the closest thing to chain city you're going to see until orlandu comes. It's bananas.

If you've got a decent weapon on Agrias, the 4 Spooky Auras on Lid, and a non-garbage weapon on CoD, you want to Blade Blitz, Sunbeam, and Barrage. Unless you get some truly shit RNG, you'll kill at least one of them, and Cecil will eat half of the counter attack.

I have no idea what Seria's attacks are like, but if she's got an AoE non-fire attack, use it too.

Diablos is easy to get to if you ignore the event right now.

CoD would be the ideal unit to summon Diablos due to Man-Eater innate and Light Resist but since I don't have her yet, I'll have to get Cecil to do it since he has innate Light Resist. The loss of Firepower on the Toblerone would hurt though. I might actually switch her up with Kefka to kill Maxwell since she is weak to magic.

At best we'll have her vulnerable to debuffs and her HP is halved.

I might have to burn the tickets I got from the event to try to get CoD. I worry about CoDanon though since CoD is on banner and they have a tendency to draw her given that they already have 11 of her.

I finally got CoD to 6* a few days ago. I've just been shoving King Mog's gigantuars that I've managed to scrounge with my pitiful karma supply. I need to get her ready to roll ASAP cause my best DPS are Cecil, Vaan and BC Lid

She came out about a couple months ago in JP, and was considered a challenge to them.

There was supposed to be five months of powercreep between now and then.
The holy trinity had already been fully assembled, 6* Garland, Exdeath, Rain, Lasswell, Chizuru, WoL, Tilith, and a million billion other good units, espers, and items inbetween.

Mages really shone in this battle, specifically 6* Exdeath and Majin Fina (neither of which we have).
A 6* tilith friend was also almost a necessity both for the elemental res+ and the reviving everybody.

5* tilith would be murdered turn 1.

Tanks will be oneshot without light resist, which currently doesn't exist outside omni-veil (only 30%).
Carbuncle was REQUIRED to have someone other than cecil who could stay alive.

You will NEED CoD for omni veil, or otherwise need to sacrifice a friend slot for it.
Light res is NOT OPTIONAL, and 5* tilith ain't doing shit for us.

Maybe the reason they are pushing this event on us earlier is exactly so not a lot of people have the chance to beat it and get a freebie unit.

Vargas was totally unchanged, he was just less than a joke in JP at the time.

Jokes aside it probably was intended from day 1, or they decided to change it when they went to go fix the ambush script (dataminers discovered it early, but it didn't work until after the nerf).

They also have no reason to nerf it unless they also nerf maxwell as a unit.
She was already too good a reward for the cost in JP (altema is a meme, she's underrated).
So if they nerf it, we've got this monster unit that trivializes all content for months to come (probably until gilgamesh even).

Maxwell had a stupid high defense. You could barely scratch her, even with dark attacks.

Eileen/Tidus hit her like a sack of wet noodles, while exdeath could take a third of her health out with a W meteor. It was a mage fight.

CoD was pretty much only good for being able to equip diabolos without gaining TOO much light weakness, and for omni-veil.

It fits the meta better, it follows a pattern, it's logical, it's the most rational scenario, They release maxwell nerfed and capped at 5 star.

Okay, for the future runs. Barfira on Agrias will help immensely. The vast majority of the damage on this event is fire. Aura ball will knock down the physical damage too. It'll take longer, but you'll survive. Your only real concern will be having enough MP to do enough damage on Boss Vargas.

BUT, if you're having trouble killing boss Vargas, you should just settle on running Intermediate, or getting a Luneth or Two as a friend unit. A 500+ Attack Luneth can kill everything with Hit All going twice. I've actually found him to be better than Lightning for this event, especially if he's got a Diabolos for Man Eater.

Inclusiveness and babysitting hurt feelings aren't a business model.

It will draw incentive away from pulling, which is less money. There is no way to spin the situation to make it seem like this isn't the case.

Maxwell isn't "just a taste." She's a lifetime fucking supply.

The most reasonable scenario is they hard sell this dark banner by bringing maxwell unchanged. They convince people it's possible to win, and a select few whales really will win.

Anybody who can beat maxwell and evoke diabolos doesn't need her.

Yeah, there's no way that Maxwell will come out without a major nerf to her HP(1/2 HP cut at the minimum) at the very minimum and her defense cut down, maybe even made vulnerable to debuffs so that Elza can shine with her Ravaging Blow.

At least I'll be able to summon Diablos with the greatest of ease given that Cecil will have to take it and I'll give Golem to someone else since that light vulnerability is going to hurt them.

She'll have her 6* awakening at release since she is a limited unit. It'll suck for everyone who doesn't have CoD/CoD (whale)friends or just started playing now.

Toblerone is still good for the event as she can equip the Trident which is a 50% damage boost which Luneth doesn't have the ability to. My 422 Toblerone effectively has 633 ATK against anything that Grand Gaia can throw at her, especially since she has Man-Eater that can further raise the damage by another 50%.

Ah, I had forgotten that Lightning can equip the Trident. I haven't had the luxury of pulling her myself, and none of the Lightnings on my friends list have been using it. Because of that, she's been strictly inferior to Luneth. I've got a Luneth friend with Man Eater, and he can just clear the first two stages with a single cast of Hit All himself.

I think gumi might just like throwing people for a spin on whats coming up. Or maybe this is some sign that we're not getting a second BF banner in the future for 6* Tillith.
