I absolutely could not stand Dark Souls after the massive and very blatant drop in quality once Ornstein and Smough are defeated. The game needed another two or three years of dev time.

Anyway, I come to ask if the other Souls games are more finished and polished? Specifically, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2?

I think they're all fragments of the Witch of Izalith. The Sunlight Maggot taking over Solaire and driving him mad is kinda like the deal with the bug and the Lost Sinner.

They're all obviously one half to 2/3rds finished. It's a trademark of the series. This is a dev whose ambition constantly outstrips their time and funding.

DeS is probably the most consistent.
DaS2 not so much.

DeS is the more finished one and the one with most consistent quality, most levels are liked by some people. 2's quality is all over the place and is likely to make you give up before you get to the few good parts.

Bloodborne is probably closest to being "finished".

DeS hides it well but is in the end, also unfinished.

DaS2 is the worst in the series in this regard.

DaS3 is so fragmentary anyway that you can't really tell if it's finished or not, it's kind of a separate problem that feels the same if that makes sense.

DeS is technically unfinished, with the broken archstone, but there's no blatantly unfinished/rushed areas in the game, like Izalith in DaS1

You may like it as a level because you're entitled to your opinion, but you can't deny that upper Lothric Castle is a rushed badly patched up piece of shit.

-Lots of areas withot textures, floating things, a wall with texture that doesn't fit (you know the one)
-Unoptimized, takes way more to load than other areas
-Champion in bugs during online
-Color Glitch (I've never seen it happen anywhereelse)
-All enemies are just reused mobs with buffed stats
-The only elevator with a lever that serves no purpose
-A lot of areas with unfinished look, bad textures
-Pointless dead ends
-Two bonfires 10 meters from each other
