That will definitely make them very handheld then, seeing with how much Gaijin loves HE rounds and hates solid shots they're already better than Americans and British they will be who Japan will face off the most in Realistic Battles.

In RB at least, since they're Axis this means they'll be facing off a lot against teams of British and Americans and this means that they don't have to worry about heavily armored targets like Germans(In Tiers 3 and Tier 4) except few Heavy Tanks that the Americans have starting around Tier 3. The Russians will be the ones giving them a run for their money since their Tanks have sloped armor with memebounce rng and they have heavy tanks with good slopes and armor.

So the Japanese having shit pen(If we are talking around 150mm penetration at late Tier 3) it won't be that bad given what they will face off with since the pairings of Japanese and Germans means they'll have the Germans to help take the Russians in Allies vs Axis matches. Also with the high explosive filler this means that anything they pen will get fucked pretty good so it evens out.

With Hellcat tier armor, I want to say they'll be a better version of the British. Glass Cannons that can actually kill shit they pen because of HE filler but with shit Armor that won't be saving you much. I guess it will depend on how good their mobility is.
