Looks like The Stargazers publisher is pretending that they actually beta bested that buggy vn. If they did that's even worse, because it has so many errors.

Don't know. The youtuber who covered it said he had crashes. And there were numerous sprite positioning issues that were posted here.
MangaGamer is the publisher for some of the devs that had art traced. They sell some of their older titles on Nutaku. They could take legal action on the devs behalf.
The game had no staff credits either. You'd think someone would've noticed. Too much to expect for a publisher that can't remember to hit the launch button for itch.io until 3 days after launch I guess.

The formerly free vn One Night Stand now costs money and is available on Steam. It's supposedly an expanded release.

Yeah, Nutaku probably isn't going to do anything until their hand is legally forced by the companies affected by the art tracing. They'll just keep saying they're talking to the devs about it, but nothing will happen considering a large chunk of the game's assets are more than likely traced. It would need a massive overhaul.
It's selling better on Nutaku than Sakura Nova is.

It explicitly says it's a kinetic novel right on the cover and it only has 2 scenes, the second of which isn't even sexy due to the whole fake orgasm thing. Other yuri vns have done just fine on Nutaku.
In the case of Pyrite Heart they removed the free version and REMOVED content from it before putting it up for sale.
So, like, exactly the opposite of making a new premium version.
People didn't have to buy the retail version. And you could most likely still find the free version if you looked enough. Nothing is ever really gone once it's put on the internet.

That got a sequel? Never expected that to happen. It was one of the earliest otome vns on Steam, but it just doesn't seem that good now that there's more available.
Tell the writer to knock it off or you'll start charging for extra edits. And this is why artists want a completed script before agreeing to start doing the artwork.
Been there, done that, in my case I told the writer to fuck off, he actually found some other guy to edit the stuff I did for him.

It takes hours to revise art, minutes to revise writing. Art can change but it's way more permanent than writing is.

Working on the story at the moment, so far everything is going fine, this will take me some time since it's pretty just me and some guy I hired for proof reading.
Once im done with the story I will start with the art, I have planned a bunch of CGs in mind so it will be pretty challenging, but I'm enjoying working on this so that's good.

None of the promo images shown as examples were from vns they published. So far the loss of profit is a no-go. And they can't really sue Nutaku, since they weren't aware. And as a rich company Nutaku will obviously have a huge team of professional lawyers at their disposal. You could maybe try suing the devs, but then they'll claim they didn't know the art was traced and will blame the artist. And the artist will just say that they took inspiration from those images.

Ignorance doesn't exempt people from following the law. They have the legal obligation of checking the images, since they've for all means and purposes purchased them.
Anyway, given that Nutaku is trying to become "the" market for adults vns, I'm pretty sure they'd rather remove the offending vn that risk becoming known as those people that allow such things to fly, given that it could potentially damage their relationship with future partners.

It's not feasible to check every vn in existence to make sure no art was traced from it.
Nutaku will remove it when they legally have to. They're not just going to take some random company's word for it. Plus, pulling content at the drop of a hat isn't a good thing either.

Are you retarded? Publishers have, unless stated otherwise in the contract, a lot of responsibility over content. If there's plagiarism/tracing involved they're going to pay too.
