Storm haven kinda plays for itself, DS can be infuriating with bad draws, so I'd pick Elana if fun is what you're looking for, you'll get countered to no end though.
Also you can play without seraph, but that's one huge win condition you're giving up.

Second is broken in every game mode. Only the Seraph mirror, where you can drop Seraph 1 turn earlier as first, benefits from going first. I might as well fucking concede going first when I'm playing control Sword, especially if it's already an unfavored match up.

D.Shift doesn't care about the board, and has more draw than every other class combined. Card advantage and board state are the benefits of going second, and solitaire is a degenerate deck that cares about neither.

This is why I'll never truly like this game. Hearthstone all over again, except they designed the cards and mechanics with turn length in mind, instead of using RNG to neutralize a more skilled player's advantage over a newbie.

I just wish we could have a truly good card game for once, but they all just build and balance around money. if we could just fucking have MTG with a polished, competent online client, and ALL the cards, I'd play nothing else.

The win rate of more aggressive or middle-range aggressive decks seems to have faster and more positive results.

Formats like modern either have broken meta (currently- everyone plays "unfair" or noninteractive decks like dredge, infect etc) or like legacy have absurd entry point. Commander is usually casual format that can be played like legacy-lite. Standard is mostly 5 deck meta shit

Control blood can be pretty strong, it has the biggest swings. It's hard to play control because many decks are optimized for pushing face pressure. By the time they run out of steam, and you're 1 turn from bringin it back, you just lose.
