Sweepstakes are not free.
I know you're not old enough to do taxes yet, so I'll explain very simply. You have to declare sweepstakes winnings (in this case a car) as income. You know what happens to income? You get taxed on income.
So if you get a car, and it's supposed to be worth ~$8,000, but because it's frame damaged it's basically scrap. So you're paying much more than you should, even if it's "free."
