I struggled to do more than 250k on bosses. One reason is that I still can't get right s2m, I pop it too early or too late, but I also move too much.

I should have never been a dps, healers are easier.

Most common raid setup is 2 tanks 3 healers 9 DPS

Tanks take the bosses damage, DPS do damage to the boss and generally deal with minigame stuff etc., healers heal people.

i just hide mine or pretend it's not there and just use weakauras in the middle around my raid frames

depends on the fight, but basically,

1-3 tanks (usually 2)
3-6 healers (usually 4)
3-8 melee (usually like 5 really, but EN was really melee friendly)
rest ranged dps

well that's for mythics at least

for just normal/heroic pugs, you usually see 15 man groups with:
2 tanks
3-4 healers
3-6 melee
3-7 ranged
all adding up to like 15ish people

Tanks are usually more rare but you also take a lot of responsibility in raids that are not lfr.
Healer is okay to find groups as, in raids you still have a lot to do and while it's not as noticeable as the tanks work it can get really stressful in higher mythics and raids.
