I'm curious how actual field combat between Native Vaegirs and Rhodoks play out, I'm guessing Vaegirs lose, badly. No shields, shitty lamellar armor, no high Athletics. I guess the Rhodoks might start to take loses after some prolonged melee combat but Vaegir would need like 3 to 1 odds in their favor to win.

1v1 Rhodok Sharpshooters lose to vaegir Marksmen because of fire rate

Balanced army Rhodoks win because their infantry is just straight better and kills Vaegir cavalry

The only good side of Veteran Nord Archers are they are cheap and easy to train to max.

they also have the best melee stats of any archer and highest athletics score of any troop in the game

Rhodok Sharpshooters have 1 more Power Strike, and 20 more weapon proficiency.

Nord Vet Archers have 1 more Ironflesh and 1 more Athletics.

So just how do you make an archer unit as good as a crossbow unit?

give them 8 power draw

Give archers 10 power draw and 480 archery proficiency

but Vaegir, Nord and Sarranid Archers are better than Swadian Sharpshooters

Archers are better on field battles and siege defense (with unlimited ammo) than crossbowmen because of their fire rate

Crossbowmen are better in siege attack because of superior damage per shot

if you don't then you get a pirate specific claimant quest
