Try to find something you want to drive thats not a highball. I dare you.
asheville.craigslist.org
How does this one look, Veeky Forums?
Not a "highball"?
mohave.craigslist.org
It's a manual Dodge Neon for $900
id assume its a little more than the throttle body user
topeka.craigslist.org
Thinking about checking this out and possibly buying it, is 180k too many miles for a '90 Miata? What about the price? Its a lot cheaper than the other Miatas for sale in Kansas and it has a hardtop too.
>topeka.craigslist.org
if it truly has no rust Id say do it. Also it would be a huge plus if he had all the records receipts for the car. If he does not I'd low ball the shit outta him.

The fuck is this? Why? Do you not want money?
I'm even giving you your asking price, you cunts
portland.craigslist.org
This any good for the price? I wanna feel like for $600, it's got $1500+ worth in needed repairs/fixing.
I also want to know if I should ask if the kid comes with.
Also talking with the guy, he said the issues the car has is minor. Two bad motor mounts, rough paint, no radio, valve cover has a light leak. Motor and transmission are both solid however.
200k on the speedometer, however the engine has been swapped out. He also mentioned at low speeds, it does jerk a bit due to the bad motor mounts, but otherwise it seems like a solid deal for $600.
>that ricey POS

orlando.craigslist.org
Normally I wouldn't even give a car with this many miles a 2nd glance, but I always hear about how these things can go a kabillion miles. Plus the ad states it's been dealer maintained, of course I'll ask for some maintenence records for proof, and if he doesn't have any then I'll probably walk away. But if the car really has been dealer maintained, is this a good buy? I've never bought a car with more than 150k on it but this doesn't seem all too bad.
you have to learn that mileage doesnt mean shit if it has all the records (depending on the car). dealer or not. (although dealer makes it even better)
I'd say do it. I bet you could get that for 2.5k or 2k
remember if you arent embarrassed by your first offer than its not low enough

how reliable is this ?
houston.craigslist.org
its a fucking honda/acura
its stupid reliable assuming the owner at least did basic maintenance but even if they didnt it would prob still be somewhat ok.
but going off how much effort the owner put into the ad he prob didn't do anything to it.
see this for example. look how detailed the ad is.
Head cracked at exhaust port.
Yeah like I said if the guy doesn't actually have any maintenance records then I'll either lowball him hard or just walk away entirely

maine.craigslist.org
Would this be a solid first car?
fuck no, seriously esp for your first car. I mean unless you have money for taking it to a mechanic. Volvo V70s are a nightmare to work on.
The best first car (if we are talking about volvos) is the Volvo 240 wagon/ or sedan.
Easy and cheap to maintain wether its for yourself or you bring it to your mechanic
here are cars in your area under $3k that have a manual transmission, clean title, gas powered, and are FWD.
same thing but automatic
I'm not particular to any type of car, just not very knowledgeable.
maine.craigslist.org
would that be good?
>Vollkswagen
NOPE
THIS would be a perfect first car.
Zero Rust although it doesnt matters as you live in Maine and the car is bound to rust (assuming you dont have a garage to put it in)
>1987 Acura Integra
>108k miles
>$2900 obo
offer him 1.8k and work from there. At the most i'd pay $2400 for it.
maine.craigslist.org
stick to Japanese. Subaru's or Hondas
and if you dont know how to drive manual, youll learn. either before you get a car or when you get the car. it isnt rocket science.

I was young and Thankfully I did not buy into the scam,
So I was looking for a Very specific Car and Mitsubishi manufactured it only for a few years.
So, this was a long time ago, but I think It was me who answered to a private seller advertisement.
Here is exactly what haptened.
I went to the bank TD bank for 7 days, requesting only crisp new 100$ bills.
TD bank told me to wait, since this was a large amount of money and I insisted on Brand new crisp 100$ bills ONLY (I wanted to use this as a bargaining chip).
I got the cash and my father, INSISTED he come along and have the money on him anonymously out of sight while I made the deal.
Here comes the Kicker.
As we agree'd on price and shook hands, I was told that He does not have the Title ( at this point I went to my father and he said lets just leave).
I asked him where is the title, he said its at the bank (a bank that does not exist).
BE WARNED!
Thanks, appreciate this. I'll send out some messages and see if I can get in touch with one of these, they are all in my price range so that's really good.
nigga tf you talking bout?

Why'd you pick the integra by the way? I actually like the look of the car, and even though I'm edging towards automatic I think I might go with the integra if I can get him a little lower
Because its reliable as piss and supposedly it was taken cared for. Also make sure to ask to see the service records/receipts for proof
mobile.craigslist.org
>1997 Chevrolet S10
>74k
>extended cab

>$1500, could possibly get it for less
why so cheap? is that how much they usually go for?
couldn't say as i've never bought one before. i'm just looking to buy a daily commuter for less than $3k and that's one of the better options that came up. i'd like a truck so i won't have to keep borrowing my friend's every time i have to haul something (which is at least a couple of times a month). i'm assuming the seller has had it on CL for a while and keeps updating the listing, or maybe he just never bothered to check the value. I'm skeptical
honestly it looks fake because of how small the pics are if that makes any sense.
yeah, i'm sure something's up with it. i hope i can find out more soon. for comparison there's another seller with an '08 ranger for $3900. ac doesn't work, no idea about the mileage, but it comes with a camper shell which i could put to use. right now price is king so the cheaper the better
The price is suspiciously low and "you can tell the bed was barely used" tells you it's someone flipping, not selling their own truck. Don't take cash with you to look at it.
>don't take cash
i wouldn't, nor would i go without my springfield .40
i've never purchased a vehicle off CL or from any private seller. how would i know if the deal is legit? is there an easy way to check out a title's authenticity? sorry for asking basic questions
well yeah ask to see registration and title.
and always ask for maintenance records/receipts. if they dont have that its not that big of deal assuming you are buying a car under 5k but it does help
>2001 S2000
>$12k
>110k miles

I just want something to get around in, a hatch so I can move stuff/sleep in it if I have to. good MPGs if possible. budget is like 3k.
help me out Veeky Forums, I've done a bunch of amateur "research" but I still can't decide.
>look at all these links and see all these nice cars
>look at my local craigslist and there is very little of interest or basically anything that isn't a truck
Living in literally who Kansas sure sucks
im sorry user.
also don't ever look at the california craigslist. they truly have the best cars.
>rust free for the most part
>even cheaper
>move stuff or sleep in
>hatch
When will this meme stop? Hatches have about the same cargo space as a sedan. Get a Wagon.
collective cargo space maybe, but you can't fit big objects in a sedan for the most part. there are tiny liftbacks that can fit bigger objects than a sedan in them.
I found a civic hatch for 1k, has one rust spot but looks good otherwise, might get that.

is there an easy way to get insurance quotes online so I can figure out the cheapest car insurance wise? I've never been in an accident and I'm not a teenager but I guess that might not count for much since I've only ever been on other's insurance so I probably don't have a history.
