I've always wondered about that. I wonder if the benefits outweight the benefits. Sure, you might get a few extra shells per hundreds of battle splashing around you. But it could also mean that you get hit slightly more often by stray shells, product of increased dispersion, whenever you perfectly evade a salvo.

Like those times where you bait a shot, brake and turn so that most shells entirely miss you except for that one stray that hits your rudder right into the citadel.
